The Bwindi Forest National Park Mountain Gorilla can be trekked for by either arriving and departing from Kigali, Rwanda or Entebbe/Kampala, Uganda.
This usually starts with the drive from Kigali, Rwanda with an early morning pick up from the hotel or Kigali International Airport depending on one’s time of Arrival.
On the eventful day, you set off with the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park; driving via the Kigali-Katuna -Bwindi Route or Via the Kigali - Musanze - Cyanika Border - Bwindi Route. This journey covers about 5 - 6 hours depending on the sector of interest (Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo)

Apart from Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, In Uganda, Mountain Gorillas can also be trekked at Mgahinga National Park.
Mgahinga National Park is found at the border of Uganda and Rwanda in Southern Uganda, Kisoro.

Pick Up and Transfer to Bwindi NP

After breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, you will be picked up by our tour guide for the road trip to Bwindi Forest NP. You will have an en-route city tour to Gisozi Genocide Memorial Site, have lunch and later proceed with the drive to Bwindi Forest National Park. You will drive via the Kigali-Katuna; enjoying the rolling hills of the country side, arriving in the evening; once here, check in at your lodge and relax as you get ready for the Gorilla Trek. Gorilla Trek - Batwa Pygmies Visit

Report to Bwindi Park Offices at 7:00AM for morning briefing & registration. With your hiking gear, start off with the trek for the gorillas. This may last from 1 hour to several hours depending on the day’s movement of the gorillas as they search for food, water &shelter. On finding them, enjoy an hour’s stay; take as many photographs + mini videos. After this encounter, you will return to the starting point, receive your Certificate and later return to the lodge/ Visit the Batwa Pygmies.
