Day 1: Lemosho gate to Big Tree

Your journey begins in Arusha, where you'll hop into vehicles for a scenic drive to the Lemosho Trail's starting point, known as Londorossi Gate. This route, approached from the west, kicks off in the Afromontane Rainforest, the first of Kilimanjaro's four ecological zones. Here, you'll meet your crew and start your hike at a leisurely pace, keeping an eye out for wildlife. Day 2: Big Tree to Shira 2 Camp

Leaving behind the lush forests of Lemosho, you'll ascend through a unique landscape of podocarpus and juniper forests. Your journey will then take you to an area of heather and volcanic rock, known as the Shira Plateau. This plateau was once Kilimanjaro's third peak before it collapsed. Lunch will be served on the trail, and you'll reach shira 2 by mid-afternoon. From here, you'll be treated to a breathtaking view of Kibo, Kilimanjaro's peak. Spend the night at Shira 2.

Day 3: Shira 2 to Barranco Camp

Today's trek takes you across the slopes of Kibo, an area where relatively little flora or fauna can survive due to extreme temperature ranges. Lunch is typically enjoyed near the Lava Tower, a volcanic rock formation. For the adventurous, there's an optional ascent of the 300ft Lava Tower. Later in the afternoon, you'll descend to Barranco camp, passing through the stunning 'Garden of the Senecios,' known for its giant groundsel and lobelias. Spend the night at Barranco Camp.

Day 4: Barranco to Karanga Camp

Today's journey involves conquering the challenging Barranco Wall. You'll need to use all four limbs to navigate this wall and reach the top of the Karanga Valley. Afterward, you'll follow a path with various inclines and declines to reach Karanga Camp by late afternoon. Karanga Camp is strategically chosen for acclimatization purposes, and the sunsets here are simply spectacular, offering views of the glacial valleys and towering ice fields. Spend the night at Karanga Camp.

Day 5: Karanga to Barafu Camp

Today, you will continue your ascent, heading to Barafu Camp. Lunch is taken at this high camp, providing ample time to relax before the final push to the summit. Barafu Camp is located in a desolate alpine desert, known for strong winds. However, evenings offer splendid views of Mawenzi Peak. You'll enjoy an early dinner and rest in preparation for the summit bid. Spend the night at Barafu Camp.

Day 6: Barafu to Summit to Mweka

Your summit day begins just before midnight, as you start the final push to Uhuru Peak. This is the coldest and windiest part of your journey. By dawn, you'll likely reach Stella Point, located at an altitude of 18,652 ft. Here, you'll witness a spectacular sunrise over Mawenzi Peak. Ascending via Stella Point provides a relatively short final section to Uhuru Peak, Capture this extraordinary moment with plenty of photos. After a brief celebration, you'll descend to mweka camp for the night.

Day 7: Mweka camp to Mweka Gate

After breakfast, you'll descend once again through montane forest. At around midday, you will bid farewell to your crew and be picked up for a transfer back to your hotel in Arusha. Here, you can enjoy a well-deserved shower and celebrate your incredible journey with a dinner!
