Day 1: Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Camp

After breakfast at your hotel you will drive to the Umbwe Gate (1,800 meters/5,900 feet). After permit formalities you will start your trek through the dense rainforest, which is steep and demanding. Reach Umbwe Camp (2,850 meters/9,350 feet) for the night.

Day 2: Umbwe Camp to Barranco Camp

On the second day after a delicious breakfast you will continue ascending through the forest and then into the heath and moorland zones. Affter few hours you will arrive at Barranco Camp (3,960 meters/13,000 feet) for the night. This day includes some challenging sections, and you will gain significant altitude.

Day 3: Barranco Camp to Karanga

On the third day you will climb through the famous Barranco Wall, a steep and challenging ascent. Traverse the alpine desert landscape and reach Karanga Camp (3,995 meters/13,100 feet).

Day 4: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

On the fourth day you will continue ascending to Barafu Camp (4,673 meters/15,330 feet), the base camp for your summit attempt. Take it easy, rest, and hydrate in preparation for the summit push. Your guide will provide a briefing on the night's climb

On the fifth day you will start your ascent to the summit around midnight 2:00am. It's a steep climb in the dark. Reach Stella Point (5,685 meters/18,650 feet) on the crater rim, then continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters/19,341 feet), the highest point in Africa. Then descend back to Barafu Camp for a short rest and further descent to Mweka Camp (3,100 meters/10,170 feet) for the night.

Day 6: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

On final day of your six days climbing Mount Kilimanjaro via the hardest route, you will descend through the lush rainforest to Mweka Gate (1,640 meters/5,380 feet).
