Safari summary
This versatile African safari takes us exploring both sides of the Kenya/Tanzania border. You’ll witness awesome herds of free-ranging elephants at Kenya’s Amboseli National Park, framed by the spectacle of snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro not far off in Tanzania. We switch gears at Lake Manyara National Park where the blue alkaline lake takes up most of this very pretty park, adorned with thousands of delightful pink flamingoes dressing the shorelines. No visit to Tanzania is whole without a thorough exploration of its biggest reserve and a true force of nature – Serengeti National Park. We’ll spend several days here on its vast plains populated with wildebeests filling out the horizons. It’s said there are more lions here than any other spot in Africa. Then, Ngorongoro Crater – the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera awaits our discovery.

Itinerary
Nairobi – Amboseli
Amboseli
7:30 am. Get ready to safari as your Natural World Kenya Safaris driver/guide arrives at your hotel, residence, airport, or another place of your choosing. Jump into your private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep and we’ll take off driving through the savannah country, passing homesteads and Maasai herders tending to their cattle. We’ll get to Amboseli Park in the late morning. Lunch is next at our accommodation and we’ll ready ourselves for the first of many game drives over the next six days.
Amboseli – Lake Manyara
Amboseli | Lake Manyara
We’re getting into the safari rhythm with an early rise to watch the morning sun light up the fields, hills, and marshes of the park. We’ll take a pre-breakfast game drive as the wildlife slowly emerges into the new day. Breakfast will be at our accommodation and then we’re off to Tanzania. We’ll stop for immigration at the border town of Namanga, before proceeding on to Lake Manyara Park. Our route takes us through Maasai country, and you may see some of the herders tending to their flocks.
Serengeti National Park
Today you will go on a full-day game drive. After an early breakfast in your lodge in Serengeti, you resume from where you left off the previous day. Our experienced safari guide will accompany you to find the Big Five animals in their natural habitat. The magic of Serengeti National Park is not easy to describe in words.
Full-Day at Serengeti
Serengeti
Let’s rise with the Serengeti sun as the great fields come alive with spectacular herds of wildebeests and so much other wildlife. It’s here that millions of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, eland, topi and others breed and begin their Great Migration in search of taller grasses, water, and the trek for their survival. It’s a phenomenal sight not seen elsewhere. Also, on the vast Serengeti – big cats like lions, leopards, and cheetahs thrive in great numbers.
Serengeti – Ngorongoro
Ngorongoro Crater | Serengeti
We’ll grab some picnic lunches as we take a final game drive through the Serengeti. But now we are on our way to the Ngorongoro Crater. On route, we’ll make a detour to the anthropological wonder of Oldupai Gorge. The site is a living fossilized record of early man’s tool-making and early development and is not to be missed. As we come to the Ngorongoro Crater’s rim, let’s pause and take in the vast thriving world below us, an area of some 264 sq km (102 sq mile).
Ngorongoro – Arusha – Nairobi
Ngorongoro Crater
Let’s try to catch the sunrise at the crater’s rim – it’s certain to be dazzling. Then, after breakfast, we’ll depart for Arusha with a lunch stop along the way.
