Moshi-Londorossi gate-Mti Mkubwa

start our adventure by leaving Moshi for a 3 hours’ drive to londorosi gate, after all the formalities are handled , the drive will continue for one hour to lemosho trailhead . After arrival lunch will be served and we will start hiking through the wild and thick rainforest which leads to the first camp Elevation: 7,800ft- 9,500ft Distance: 6 km Hiking time: 3-4 hours Habitat: rain forest

Mti Mkubwa Camp

Mti Mkubwa-Shira 2 Camp

After having breakfast in the camp we will have an early ascent into the heather moorland zone. Along the way we will come across a good number of streams, we will proceed on a plateau that leads to shira 2 campsite. On this site there is an incredible view of the western breach and its glaciers in the east. You will enjoy evening snacks and a tasty dinner. Elevation: 2750m – 3840m Habitat: Moorland Time to be used: 6 - 7 hours Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Shira-Lava Tower-Barranco

After having breakfast we will hike from shira 2 camp and enter the desert and rocky landscape. After a five hour walk we will reach the lava tower and enjoy lunch at the tower. After having lunch we will descend from the tower to barranco campsite. The descent will take about two hours and after arrival we will spot the popular barranco wall which will be embarked the next day. Elevation: 3840m – 4630m Habitat: Semi Desert Distance Covered: 15 km

Barranco Camp-Karanga Camp

We will have a short day hiking to karanga camp. After winning the intimidating barranco wall, we follow a sequence of hills and valleys till we reach karanga camp. Enjoy beautiful sunset here with the magnificent sights of glacial valleys and ice fields towering over 3000ft above. Elevation: 13,044ft – 13, 106ft Distance: 5km Hiking time: 4 -5 hours Habitat: alpine desert

Karanga Camp-BarafuCamp

After having breakfast we leave karanga and campsite and hit the intersection which connects with mweka trail. From here we proceed to barafu camp. This will be the end of the southern circuit, which offers mesmerizing view of the summit from different angles. We will rest and enjoy a tasteful dinner as we prepare for the summit day. Elevation: 13,106ft -15,331ft Distance: 4km Hiking time: 4 – 5 hours Habitat: alpine desert

Barafu Camp

Barafu Camp-Uhuru Peak-Mweka Camp

Around midnight you will be woken up to start the trek to the summit. After reaching the highest peak in Africa, take as many pictures and start your descent to Mweka campsite. The trail is a bit rocky and can be harmful to the knees so trekking poles can be helpful here. After reaching the camp we will have our last dinner on the mountain and get some rest.

Mweka Camp-Moshi

This will be the last day of our trekking and we will begin it after having tasty breakfast in the camp, our trek to the mweka gate will take about three hours. After reaching the gate you will be ad with a gold certificate for successfully reaching the summit after that we will tweak mweka village and meet our driver who will take you back to your hotel for a long well-earned rest. Distance Covered: 9.1km Time to be used: 3hrs
