This 4 Days Mount Meru Hiking tour takes you to Mount Meru. Mount Meru is the second highest mountain in Tanzania and it is located to the East of Arusha town, about 20 kilometers drive from Arusha. The mountain stands at an altitude of 4566 meters above sea level inside the Arusha National Park. Meru can be attempted for three days but we highly recommend doing for four days for better acclimatization. when you are hiking the Mount Meru you have to be escorted by an armed ranger because you pass through the Arusha National Park you will enjoy the walking safari as you pass the groups of African buffaloes, Zebras, Black and white colobus monkeys, giraffe, Elephants and other birds.

Day 1: Momella Gate-Miriakamba Hut

Hiking distance: 10 km Hiking time: 4-5 hours The first day of your 4 Days 3 nights Mount Meru Hiking and Wildlife Safari Tour. Embark on a 2-hour journey to Arusha National Park after breakfast. Start your hike at Momella Gate, accompanied by an armed park ranger due to wildlife. Witness giraffes, zebras, and other animals en route. Hike through the forest, passing Mayo Falls and the "Arched Fig Tree," before reaching Miriakamba Hut for the night.

Day 2: Miriakamba to Saddle Hut

Hiking distance: 4 km Hiking time: 2-3 hours The second day of your 4 Days 3-nights Mount Meru Hiking and Wildlife Safari Tour. Trek through dense forest with mosses to reach the Mngongo wa Tembo viewpoint at 3200m. Continue to Saddle Hut, witnessing a shift in landscape. Optionally, hike Little Mount Meru for a panoramic view. Rest up for tomorrow's summit day.

Witness a breathtaking sunrise at the summit. Descend to Saddle Hut for lunch, then return to Miriakamba Hut to rest.
