Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania

The first day of your 7 Days Rongai Route Kilimanjaro Hiking Tour you will arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and be transferred to your hotel in Moshi, the gateway towns to Kilimanjaro. You'll have a briefing with your tour operator and meet your guide who will provide important information about the trek.

Day 2: Rongai Gate to Simba Camp

After breakfast, you'll drive to the Kilimanjaro Rongai Gate, the starting point of the trek. From here, you'll begin your hike through dense rainforest, where you might spot wildlife like monkeys and colorful bird species. The first day's trek is relatively easy, and you'll reach Kilimanjaro Simba Camp.

Day 3: Simba Camp to Kikelewa Camp

Today's trek will take you through moorland and open grassy areas. As you ascend, you'll have panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The hike to Kilimanjaro Kikelewa Camp will take around 6-7 hours. Along the way, you'll have stunning views of Mawenzi Peak and the Kilimanjaro Kibo Crater.

Day 4: Mawenzi Tarn Camp

After breakfast, you'll continue your ascent towards Kilimanjaro Mawenzi Tarn Camp. The trail becomes steeper as you approach the alpine desert zone. This day's hike is shorter but more challenging, taking approximately 4-5 hours. At Mawenzi Tarn Camp, you'll be rewarded with incredible views of Mawenzi Peak's rugged beauty.

Day 5: Kilimanjaro Kibo Hut

Today, you'll cross the saddle between Kilimanjaro Mawenzi and Kibo, the main peak of Kilimanjaro. The landscape transforms into a barren lunar like desert. You'll reach Kilimanjaro Kibo Hut where you'll rest and prepare for the summit attempt. This day's hike will take around 5-6 hours.

Day 6: Kilimanjaro Horombo Hut

At midnight, you'll start the final push to the summit, Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters). This section is physically demanding but immensely rewarding. You'll hike in darkness with headlamps, following a steep and rocky trail. As the sun rises, you'll reach the summit, where you can celebrate your achievement and take memorable photos. After a short stay at the summit, you'll descend to Kilimanjaro Horombo Hut for a well-deserved rest. The total hiking time is approximately 12 - 14 hours.

Day 7: Marangu Gate, to Moshi

On the final day of the trek, you'll descend through the lush rainforest from Kilimanjaro Horombo Hut to Kilimanjaro Marangu Gate. At the gate, you'll receive your summit certificates, a testament to your accomplishment. From there, you'll be transferred back to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha, where you can relax and celebrate your successful Kilimanjaro climb.
