Day 1:Arrival

Kilimanjaro

Embark on a thrilling 7-day adventure conquering Mount Kilimanjaro via the awe-inspiring Rongai Route! As your journey commences, you'll be warmly greeted by a knowledgeable guide from Widerange African Safaris at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Prepare for an immersive experience as you're whisked away to your cozy abode, the Kilimanjaro White House in Moshi.

Day 2: Rongai gate to Simba camp

Hiking time: 4 hours We depart from Moshi town and drive to Marangu park gate for registration. From there, we travel to Naro Moru, and approximately 2 ½ hours to the Rongai . We begin our hike from the Nale Moru village. The small winding path crosses maize fields before entering pine forest, and then we climb gently through a forest. The trail is not steep, but is rather a gentle hike through a beautiful countryside. The first night’s camp is at Simba Camp.

Day 3: Simba camp to Kikelewa Camp

Hiking time: 6 – 7 hours The third day of your 7 Days Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro via The Rongai Route. You will hike from Simba camp to Kibo and arrive for lunch at First Caves. After lunch, we continue trekking until we reach Kikelewa Camp for Overnight

Day 4: Mawenzi Tarn camp

Hiking time: 3 hours The fourth day of your 7 Days Hiking Mount Kilimanjaro via The Rongai Route A short but steep climb up grassy slopes offer superb views of this wilderness area. The vegetation zone ends shortly before you reach your next camp at Mawenzi Tarn situated beneath the towering spires of Mawenzi. Here we spend the afternoon acclimatizing and exploring the area.

Day 5: Kibo hut

Hiking time: 5 After breakfast, we head west and continue ascending on the east side of Kibo. We then cross the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo taking 4 to 5 hours to reach Kibo Hut. The remainder of the day is spent resting in preparation for the final ascent, which begins around midnight. Overnight at Kibo hut.

Day 6 Summit attempt

Hiking time: 7 to 8 hours Prepare for a tough day.Wake up at 23:20, have tea and biscuits, then start climbing. Rocky path to Hans Meyer Cave a resting spot. Zigzag up to Gillman's Point (5681m) on the crater rim. Steep with scree, demanding physically and mentally. Hardest section. Snow from Gillman's to Uhuru Peak (5895m), Africa's highest point! Time at summit depends on weather. Descend 3 hours to Kibo Hut, rest, gather gear, head to Horombo Hut (3 hours) for overnight. Return feels fast

Day 7: Horombo hut to Marangu Gate

Hiking time: 6 hours After breakfast, we continue our descent for around 6 hours passing the Mandara hut down to the Marangu gate. At Marangu gate, successful climbers receive their summit certificates. Those climbers who reached Gillman’s Point (5685m) are issued with green certificates, and those who reached Uhuru Peak (5895m) receive gold certificates.
