Formerly known as Owen falls, Nalubaale dam is popularly known as a hydroelectric power station. It is one of the oldest power stations in Uganda. The dam generates about 180 megawatts (240000 hp) hence being able to supply electricity to Uganda and neighboring parts of Kenya and Tanzania. The interesting fact about this dam is that it controls lake Victoria’s outflows through a series of approximately ten turbines.
