The Grey cheeked Mangebay is known to be an ancient monkey with long dark grey hair on their body and head. Both male and females have tails that are longer than their bodies. Unlike the baboons, the grey cheeked Mangebay do not have a dominant male. They live in a group of 5-30 individuals. Also known as the black-cheeked white nose monkey, the red tailed monkeys often interbreed in Kibale Foerst National Park with the blue monkeys. Their tails reach about 35 inches. These magnificent primates have elastic large cheeks which they use to gather and store food in their mouth. Known to be very social animals, they live in groups of 7-30 individuals where they help each other out in grooming. They are very active in the early morning and evening and tend to give birth to a single baby.
