One of the rarely talked about aquatic specie living around the dens of Lake Victoria is the spotted- necked otter. This astounding diurnal animal has a long and muscular tail that is flattened horizontally and a water repellent fur that is usually chocolate brown and marked with creamy or white blotches over the chest and throat. Their droppings are composed of hundred different scents and about seventeen are thought to have information about their gender and age. Did you know that the spotted-necked otter are agile swimmers and can dive to fourteen meters in the water then spend 4-6 hours foraging in water?
