About Galloping Safaris
Galloping Safaris is a boutique luxury Safari and Kilimanjaro climbing tour provider founded in 2013. We are family-owned and based in the city of Arusha, Tanzania. We are native Tanzanians. We grew up at the base of Kilimanjaro and vacationed in the incredible national parks of Tanzania. We learned the secrets of the land, it’s incredible wildlife and wonderful people. We love our country. Today we share that lifetime of knowledge and love of the land with our Guests from around the world by taking them on breathtaking private Safaris throughout Tanzania and climbs of Mt. Kilimanjaro. A Luxury Private Tour for the Same Cost as a Group Tour with the Big Operators. We are able to provide a much better deal on your Safari because we are the tour providers. The large international tour providers with big marketing budgets, a large staff and international offices are not Safari and climbing companies. They are generally middlemen who sell a trip that is provided by local operators.About our safari vehicles
We employ 10 professional drivers – guides with an average experience of 15 years. We have very high standards when it comes to hiring and retaining personnel. We can say without reservation that these individuals are quite simply the most knowledgeable, hard-working and passionate guides in the industry. All of our guides are local Tanzanians, fluent in English, and most have advanced wildlife certificates from the Mweka Wildlife College – the oldest and most prestigious wildlife college in Africa. Course work includes wildlife ecology, conservation, field skills, identification, biology, and advanced tour guiding.
I had an extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience with this safari company when I travelled with a group of friends. We paid the full amount well in advance, expecting a smooth and enjoyable tour. Shockingly, just two hours before we were supposed to start, the owner Walter contacted us claiming he had an “accident” and abruptly canceled the entire trip.
While unfortunate events can happen, what followed was completely unacceptable. He promised multiple times to reimburse us — but after months of back-and-forth, he only refunded less than half of what we paid.
This was not just poor service — it felt like a scam. No accountability, no professionalism, and no regard for his customers. We were left with no tour, out of pocket, and with no explanation or follow-up.
There are plenty of reliable safari operators out there — do not risk your time or money with this one, he might steal your money.

My husband and I went on a 11-day Luxury Private Guided Safari with Galloping Safari in February 2016.
When we arrived at Kilimanjaro International Airport we were welcomed by Walter and our Guide James.
Where can you expect the head of the safari company (Walter) personally coming to welcome you.
This company's motto is "we are here to serve you". They stood by this motto, right from day 1.
Our accommodation was excellent and the food amazing and I haven't even started talking about the safari experience.
Our experience with the Galloping Safari: Our guide James was simply amazing and acted proactively, and carefully paying attention to our needs. We saw the Big Five within a few days of our safari. Although the roads are unpaved and bumpy we didn't feel it much, thanks to our very skillful driver.
This is a company you can trust. They don't make any false promises and they mean what they say. There are no additional or extra costs and everything is dealt with upfront. They send you a program well in advance and you can work with them to meet your interests. There is not one negative comment I can share on this company.
Their smiling faces and eagerness to make your trip as pleasant, enjoyable and adventurous as possible will be greatly appreciated by you. Guaranteed.
