This is a moderately strenuous walk that can take anywhere between three and five hours, depending on fitness levels. You’ll then come back for lunch at your camp before heading out for an afternoon game drive.
Day 4
Day 4: Today is a full day dedicated to game driving. You’ll head out early with packed meals and follow the resident wildlife and, depending on the season, wildebeest migration. This is an excellent opportunity for photographs. You’ll dine and overnight at a mobile camp – near the wildlife activity.
Day 5
Ngorongoro Crater | Serengeti

Day 7
Day 7: Today is a serious walking day. An early start is needed to allow for the 19 km (11.8 mile) walk ahead. Today’s walk takes you up the craters rim, through lovely lush forest, to the open crater highlands. Your walk passes along rivers where you’ll enjoy the local birds and monkeys. It is also possible to see larger animals off in the distance. After about six hours you’ll stop to rest and eat on the crater rim. You’ll then drive back to Rhotia Valley to relax and enjoy dinner.
Day 8
Arusha | Kilimanjaro | Lake Manyara
Day 8: After breakfast you’ll drive to Arusha, with a stop at Lake Manyara for some game viewing. In the afternoon you can do a hike up Mt. Meru. There are a few options at this point depending on time allowance, fitness level and preferences. The first option is end the trip here and head home the next day. The second option is to hike up Mt. Meru, which takes four to five days in total. The third option is to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, which also takes four to five days. For the uber fit and time-rich, there is the option to do both!
