Marangu Gate to Mandara
In the morning our team will give you a pre-climbing briefing and introduction before heading to Marangu Gate (1,860m). Upon arrival you will have a quick formality of acquiring climbing permit. After the registration you will start trekking to Mandara Hut (2,700m), when trekking you will pass through the rainforest (tropical showers). Elevation: 1860m/6100ft to 2700m/8875ft Hiking Distance: 8km/5mi Hiking Time: 3 – 4hrs Habitant: Montane Forest

Mandara Hut to Horombo
After an early morning breakfast you will trek towards Horombo Hut (3,720 m) the send high attitude camp. Upon arrival at Horombo Hut you will be treated to the views of Kibo and Mawenzi. You will spend the night at Horombo Hut, lying in a valley surrounded by giant groundsel and lobelia and you will begin to feel the altitude. Elevation: 2700m/8875ft to 3700m/12,200ft Hiking Distance: 12km/7.5mi Hiking Time: 5-6hrs Habitant: Heathland.

Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
After an early morning breakfast you will trek towards Kibo Hut (4,700m), passing through the last watering point walking onto the saddle of Kilimanjaro between the peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi. Here you will notice the vegetation thinning out as you enter the desert like alpine zone (4000m/13,123ft). After crossing the saddle, Kibo peak comes into view. The saddle is an alpine desert resembling the lunar landscape. You will arrive at the camp for hot lunch and spend the night at Kibo Hut.

Kibo Hut to Summit
morning departure from Kibo Hut (4,700m) and the start of your trekking to Kilimanjaro summit; Uhuru peak (5,895m). Commence the climb to the summit on steep and heavy snow up to Gilman’s (5,685m) point located in the crater rim. As you continue you will reach to the Uhuru peak You will the descend and retrace your path to the crater rim and make a return to Kibo Hut (4,700m), you will have lunch, before setting off to your camp at Horombo (3,720m)

Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
As you descend from Horombo you will begin to encounter more vegetation to Kilimanjaro National Park’s exit; Marangu Gate (1,860m). After you descend the whole group will gather to congratulate you and you will get a chance to share your opinion of the hiking on the guest book and certificates will be provided. The driver will pick you up and drive you back to your hotel. Elevation: 3,700m/12,200ft to 1,700m/5,500ft Hiking Distance: 20km/12.5mi Hiking Time: 4-5hrs Habitant: Forest.
