This 3 day Uganda Gorilla safari, will take you for Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which covers an area of 321 sqkm and is among the oldest forests lasting over 25,000 years. You will be able to trek one of the 12 habituated mountain gorilla groups.
Besides the Gorillas, you will also have an opportunity to see other primates such as the Red tailored monkeys, Chimpanzees, baboons, black and white colobus monkey among others. This forest is also home for 120 mammals, 51 reptiles, 310 butterflies’ species, 27 species of frogs, geckos, chameleons, 163 tree species, 104 fern species, 1000 flowering plants, as well as over 350 species of birds such as the hornbills and the Turaco!
Gorilla trekking takes around 2 – 8 hours, which is worth it as those into hiking will have a great time climbing up and about the rolling hills, and going through the lush vegetation.
Depending on the availability of the permits at the time of your confirmation, you may do gorilla tracking from Buhoma, Rushaga and Ruhija.

Itinerary
Day 1
Bwindi Impenetrable | Lake Mburo
DAY 1: DRIVE TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE N.P our experienced driver/guide will pick you up from the hotel/airport early in the morning and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, in the western part of Uganda, where on the way; we shall have a stop at the equator for pictures, also some experiments. We will also pass another National park called Lake Mburo National park, but if lucky, we might see some wild animals like Zebras on the way. As we are half way the journey, we shall stop and have lunch, and refreshments. After lunch, we drive with our journey to get to our final destination and also get ready for the activity for the following day.
Day 2
DAY 2: GORILLA TRACKING Early in the morning, the guide will pick you up and take you to the tracking point for Gorilla tracking, there will be briefing as you’re also given groups/tracking team, gorilla tracking might take like 8 hours to come back. After the gorilla tracking, the guide will be waiting to take you back to the hotel to freshen up, as we also prepare to plan for departure the next day.
Day 3
Bwindi Impenetrable
DAY 3: DRIVE BACK TO KAMPALA Early in the morning after breakfast, we shall start our journey back to Kampala to the hotel /Airport. INCLUSIONS: - Hotel Pick up and drop off - Gorilla tracking permit - 3x Lunch and 2x dinner - 2x Breakfast - Snacks/Rolex - 2x Accommodation EXCLUSIONS: - Airport drop off (unless asked for) - Tips for the guides - Souvenirs - Flight tickets - Visa processing WHAT TO BRING: - Pocket money - Sun screen - rain coats - closed shoes - Mosquito repellents DOs AND DON’Ts DURING GORILLA TRACKING Water: Gorilla trekking can be very tiresome and you need to refill your tank as the trek goes on. It is advisable to park a few water filtration tablets before you come for the trek. Boots: You will need good waterproof comfortable shoes. Sometimes it rains during the trek, so skid proof shoes can come in handy. Rain Jacket: You are advised to carry rain jacket because if rains very often in Bwindi Impenetrable forest Snack: You can carry a light snack to give you some energy during the walk in the forest Trouser and Shirts Bwindi forest is covered with thick undergrowth, therefore light trousers and long sleeved shirts are advised. Socks: You will have to tuck in the trousers into the socks to avoid insects crawling inside. Gloves: You will need Gardening gloves because you will be grabbing tree branches, leaves, name it, and some can be thorny. Camera: Carry a good camera (no flash ) to capture this lifetime experience THINGS TO BE CONSIDERED WHEN BOOKING A GORILLA TRACKING SAFARI 1. Tour can start any day 2. Solo travelers can join this tour 3. Tour is done under the post covid 19 SOPs 4. Age limit: 15 years and above 5. Suitable for single travelers as well 6. When tracking the gorillas, you should be having some level of fitness because it involves some hiking while tracking the gorillas 7. No sandals, open shoes allowed during the tracking of the gorillas, only covered shoes, hiking shoes 8. Additional accommodation on the last day can be arranged at an extra cost 9. The official currency in Uganda is Ugandan shillings. US Dollars are widely accepted which are printed after 2006.
