Itinerary

Day 1

Kilimanjaro

Our representative will meet you and drive from Kilimanjaro International airport to your hotel in Moshi to rest for a while and later meet your guide for gear checking and briefing about the mountain. Also, our guide will go through our camping gear and demonstrate the use and operation of all equipment especially the emergence oxygen cylinder and pulse ox meter, our guide as well will explain the signs and symptoms of various mountain sicknesses which might happen while trekking.

Day 2

Kilimanjaro

Today we will drive about 4 hours to Rongai gate for registrations and collect entrance permits. You will have lunch and meet your Kilimanjaro crew, after hiking will start by crossing the forest of the alpine trees. The climb is consistently and gently through attractive forest that shelters a variety of wildlife like blue monkeys and black and white Colobus Monkeys. You will reach the first campsite at the edge of rain forest and overnight

Day 3

Today after breakfast we will start a steady walk ascent up to the second cave for lunch, after lunch, we will rest until evening where we will do a nature walk for acclimatization before back to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4

Kilimanjaro

After breakfast, we will start walking in a flat area that is a bit steep and descends down a bit before arriving at the camp for lunch. Today we will be able to see Kibo peak and eastern ice fields from the crater rim

Day 5

Kilimanjaro

Today after breakfast we will start with short steep climbing up grass slopes, which are rewarded with superb circular views and a tangible sense of wilderness before reaching Mawenzi Turn hut for lunch. After lunch, we will do a nature walk for acclimatization to the slopes of Mawenzi and back to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Kilimanjaro

Today we will trek crossing the saddle area between Mawenzi peak and Kibo peak and it will be our last water point and on our way, we will be able to see the remnants of a plane crash, and we will stop at the middle of the alpine desert for a picnic lunch before getting to the camp for earlier dinner and earlier sleep wait for the summit.

Day 7

Kilimanjaro

At11:00 pm you will wake up for tea, some snacks, and dress up warm for the summit, At 12:00 am hike will start with a gradual ascent through volcanic screed meet zigzag trail starting to getting steep and keep moving to crater rim known as Gilman’s point 5685m, break for a cup of Coffee and sunrises view after a hike to Stella point 5756m rest for a while again for pictures and view before keep hiking gradually to Uhuru peak 5895m.

Day 8

After breakfast we will descend to Marangu gate about 18 km for 4-7 hours, crossing moorland and rain forest zones, you will sign out in Kilimanjaro national park log book collect our certificate, and enjoy your hot lunch. After lunch, you will meet the Eastland Adventures Kilimanjaro crew for group pictures and Kilimanjaro songs after we drive you to your hotel in Moshi for a long hot shower and Kilimanjaro beer.
