5-Day Serengeti Safari Summary
Embark on an unforgettable 5-day safari through Tanzania’s most iconic wilderness areas, with the Serengeti as the highlight. The journey typically begins in Arusha, the safari hub, followed by a scenic drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Day one often includes an overnight stay near Lake Manyara or Karatu to break the journey and enjoy a short game drive or cultural visit.
On day two, descend into the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife, including black rhinos, lions, elephants, and flamingos. After a full-day game drive and picnic lunch, the safari continues to the Serengeti, arriving in the late afternoon.
Days three and four are devoted to exploring the endless plains of the Serengeti National Park. These days offer morning and afternoon game drives in search of the Big Five and the Great Migration, depending on the season. The vast savannahs host cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, giraffes, and immense herds of wildebeest and zebras.
