The highest number of the rare black rhino is found here, as well as leopards, lions, cheetah and many other carnivores. The savanna grassland is also home to a good number of herbivores.
It harbors 500 species of birds and 55 different species of animals it’s also the second largest herbivore migration park after Maasai Mara.
The park is world renowned as the place where the former Kenya president Moi burned 12 tones of ivory in 1989 in protest of the international trade of ivory.
