About me

My childhood dream was to travel the world! I'm sure this was a dream had by many, but I grew up in a modest home with little or no extra money for extravagant holidays, let alone 'overseas' ones. This was of course something that, at that time I wanted but couldn't have. I knew that one day it would be possible and I would make that my 'thing' when I grew up. I sent the idea into the universe and didn't think about it much again until I had finished school and even then just happened to fall into the Travel Industry by divine intervention. My third job as a travel agent (I was 22) sent my adventures soaring! My very first trip abroad was to the ever popular beach destination for many South Africans, Mauritius. What a wonderful experience and even though I was technically working, reviewing hotels and familiarizing myself with the country, it had made me thirsty for more holidays, albeit work! Before I knew it, I'd visited Seychelles, London, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Italy, Miami, St Thomas, St Martin, Puerto Rico, Mauritius again, Thailand, Botswana, Zambia, a bit of Namibia and the majestic Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. There is so much to explore in my own country and have just touched on the basics. Tshukudu Game Lodge in Hoedspruit was my very first game experience when I was 19 and what a way to be introduced! I walked alongside cheetahs, lions and held on tightly to the back of an elephant! Shortly after that I had the pleasure of visiting the must-see Kruger National Park and the wonders of Mpumalanga. I've visited Sun City, Durban, Knysna, Hermanus and I am very privileged to be living in the glorious Mother City, Cape Town. My dreams are still to explore Machu Picchu and the secrets of Peru, China's Great Wall, the Terracotta Warriors and the Forbidden City. I am in love with island destinations and have yet to relax on the beaches of the Maldives. Living and working in Japan is one of my husband's future adventures, I think I'll tag along with him! Traveling across the USA in an RV would be fun! I have ideas from one extreme to the next, from Alaska at the top of the Earth to Al Calafate at the bottom of the Earth in Patagonia. So much to see! So little time!
