“Maasai village visit” - AmieMorey

Kenyan dream come true!

Views: 1087 Visited: Oct 2019 Reviewed: Nov 15, 2019

We were lucky enough to spend two weeks in Kenya--11 days safari visiting Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Masai Mara, Amboseli and Tsavo East. This was then followed by 3 days relaxation in the stunning Baobab Beach Resort. It was the best holiday I have ever been on and an experience that I will never ever forget. Every day the experience just got better and better and we were left speechless by the sights that we experienced.

The highlights of the trip for me were the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Orphanage (which Sue from Tracks Safaris highly recommended and I'm so glad she did- she organised for us to come back in the evening so that we could put the baby elephants to bed which was a once in a lifetime experience!), our visit to the Maasai Village was also very special and we were made to feel very welcome, if visiting Kenya a trip here is an absolute must! My favourite area was Amboseli, it's a truly magical place with Mount Kilimanjaro as the backdrop and unique swamp environment which has an abundance of hippo and elephants.

We were very lucky to have a fantastic guide called Julius who went above and beyond to make it a very memorable trip. He seemed to know the best vantage points and we were lucky enough to see 4 cheetahs chase down an antelope, a pride of lions with 2 young cubs and a leopard sleeping in a tree. Julius had so many funny tales up his sleeves to keep us amused during our transfers between areas so we were never bored. There were three of us travelling together, one of our group is a wheelchair user and we found that the people could not do enough to assist us with lifting the lady and wheelchair in and out of the safari vehicle. Sue from Tracks Safaris was also invaluable and always on hand with any queries we had relating to the suitability of each safari lodge etc. Each lodge was very special, food was always of a very high standard with lots of choice in a buffet style.

I would definitely travel again with Tracks Safaris as it truly was the trip of a lifetime!
