Business New Dawn Associates (NDA) is a tourism business based in Kigali, Rwanda. Anny Batamuriza, the firm’s director, describes the business as a for- profit social enterprise that engages in sustainable tourism . The goals of the firm are to both generate profits for its principles and to provide jobs and thus, improve the lives of various groups of disadvantaged Rwandans. To engineer improvements in the lives of ordinary Rwandans, NDA works in partnership with local communities and groups to provide a unique cultural experience for its clients. Though Rwanda is best known tourist attraction is the mountain gorilla, NDA prefers to leave gorilla trekking to other tour companies. Instead, the firm strives to work with organizations that specialize in gorilla tours. In that way, Gorilla trekkers are able to learn of, and participate in, NDAs offerings. This enables tourists to have a more rounded Rwandan tourist experience. While in Rwanda, visitors can see the gorillas and learn about local culture through a NDA project.
