Your Zambian wildlife safari commences after your arrival in Lusaka, from where you will wing your way to South Luangwa National Park. South Luangwa is widely regarded as one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world and not without reason. The concentration of game around the Luangwa River and its ox bow lagoons is amongst the most intense in Africa. The park also has one of the highest Leopard densities in the world, and here you have a very good chance of observing these magnificent creatures. Next you head to Kafue National Park, one of the largest National Parks in Africa. It is fed by three rivers, the Lufupa in the north-west and the Lunga and Kafue in the north-east. The Lufupa River floods in the summer, creating a large floodplain delta system that attracts thousands of water birds and wildlife. The Park boasts 55 large mammal species - including 20 ungulate and 6 cat species. From the astounding Busanga Plains in the North-western section of the Park to the tree-choked wilderness and the lush dambos of the south, this park sustains an amazing diversity of wildlife. There is also the opportunity to view the great Zambezi River, whose journey is abruptly interrupted as it tumbles across a mile-long chasm into a spectacular gorge draped with luxuriant forest – the mighty Victoria Falls.
