About me

In 1991 Friedolf and Barbara Sturm started off with organizing tailor-made safaris and arranging various tours within Namibia and to neighbouring countries. The first motto of the company was offering expert service, keeping it up and improving wherever possible. With these ingredients, the company grew fast and became one of the top leading privately owned touroperations in Namibia offering a wide spectrum of safaris. African Extravaganza is the pioneer in offering a shuttle service from Windhoek or Swakopmund to the company’s own upmarket Lodge in the desert, the Namib Naukluft Lodge, including an excursion to the famous dunes at Sossusvlei. This tour has been a milestone in the Namibian Safari Industry – running since 1993.
Nowadays we have perfected the shuttle service, operating on a daily basis. The company has newly implemented 2-night inclusive modules, that can be adjusted to fit to the personal touch and individual needs of every customer and completes the package.
African Extravaganza concentrates on small groups, offering one superb scheduled safari – the Grande Namibia – on a biweekly basis. Again high quality and service is the key to success, this safari offers a well-balanced tour of relaxation, safari experience and introduction to our beautiful country.
With our tailor-made self-drive safaris we are considered to be the specialist on the market. Keeping up-to-date with new products and inside information the African Extravaganza Team is able to give expert advice to overseas consultants and customers. Every self-drive holidaymaker will receive a full package of information, including customized route-descriptions, brochures of all establishments booked, a road map and further tips for tours. During the clients’stay in the country, we look after them and are available in case of emergency.
African Extravaganza offers privately guided charter safaris to many exclusive destinations within the country and to the neighbouring countries. Some of these most popular destinations and routes have been pre-designed; however can be adjusted to the personal interest of the client.
