I visited in January 2013
A few of us were lucky enough to have the opportunity to climb Kilimanjaro in conjunction with an African safari. Due to our schedules, we had to do the climb after our safari, which I thought would be the wiser option, as we'd have time to get over jetlag. However, safaris are tiring events unto themselves and I was pretty tired at the end. We ended up needing an extra day to summit, but it was worth it as we made it.
The route was pretty crowded, though, and I'm not sure I'd do it again. Our porters were amazing and I'm so grateful to them.
What do you like to do:
-Wildlife and birds watching
-Walking in Communty

The Marangu Route climb is often done in five or six days. The Marangu Route is sometimes called the Coca Cola route because it is an easier, and popular, option of the many routes. You will come across many scenic views, rain forest, semi-desert and the Moundi Crater.

Enosa Expeditions provided everything for me, including airport transfers, accommodation (a very nice hotel called Park View Hotel, located in Moshi town), camping facilities and all staff in mountain.
I climb Mount Kilimanjaro through Lemosho route for 7 days and my guide "Benson" made everything to reach the Summit of Mount Kilimanjaro!

A group of 7, all friends, decided over a drink to go & climb Mt Kilimanjaro! So the first challenge was to find the tour operator to suit our needs. After a lot of web browsing we settled on Maasai Wanderings who also were the tour operator for our safari after the Kilimanjaro trek. From the booking, the communication months before our adventure to the final good...

Kilimanjaro was one of my best experience in life. While traveling to Tanzania with friends we decided we could not miss Kilimanjaro. We were young and unconscious as we had not prepared for the trip and were not equipped. You can rent equipment on site, but we decided we could do without sticks or head lights! We had a team of cook and carriers. We took the easy r...

My husband, brother and I did the trek up Kilimanjaro last December. We had a great time! Kilimanjaro has such diverse ecosystems at every stage of the mountain, so bring many layers of clothes. I was amazed by the number of different trees and plants you will never see anywhere else. Day-to-day climbing was fun with snacks and tasty meals provided in between. The ...

If you are on an African safari that calls for challenge, then the place to be is Kilimanjaro NP. A real mountaineering experience takes about eight days to the Uhuru peak, which is the highest summit on the continent, but am not so sure whether or not I can make it there!
This was a kind of picnic to stretch out muscles and it turned out to be so great. For tw...
A place I have never been to...a dish I have never come across ...a view that leaves me speechless. Colours in new combinations, the sound of temple bells on the crisp morning air. Sigh. Love discovering new places or new ways to old places. Taking a different road. ...

The Kilimanjaro National Park’s biggest attraction is, without a doubt, the mountain itself. Most hikers and climbers can’t wait to get to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. They spend their nights carbo-loading, planning routes, packing gear. They hardly sleep for excitement and anticipation.
But there is much more to the park than reaching the top – or summiting. ...

Located in Tanzania, Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa. A wonder, too tempting to resist for the adventurous kind. A tempting of fate, an undertaking few people have conquered . And here we were a team of 5 individuals, it was past the 2007 election violence in Kenya and we were here to climb for peace. There was no looking back, our climb was to conve...
