I took an individual 13-day tour through Kenya and Tanzania. I had a different guide in each country in a 'pop-up' vehicle that allowed for great 360 degrees viewing of animals and wind-in-your-face experience.

Maybe your local zoo has lions, leopards, zebras or elephants. Maybe they even have wildebeest. But I bet they don't have 1.3 million wildebeest—never mind 1.3 million wildebeest in migration, with predators in hot pursuit. The park is unique by being the only protected area in the world close to a capital city with rich/diverse bird life. Animals to be seen include lion, leopard, hyena and cheetah. read more

The marshy, swampy areas of the park are home to the water birds like the Madagascer Squacco Heron and the Lapwing. Vultures, Taita falcon, the southern branded Harrier Eagle and the Taveta golden weaver are also common sightings.

Nairobi National Park is one of the rare places that you will have opportunity to see the wildlife within the lights of the city. I enjoyed every bit of my game drive with all the wild animals that I spotted. I would recommend this park for every visitor. read more

Tsavo-East is recommended for photographers with its fabulous light and unbelievable views, in particular the Mudanda Rock and the Yatta Plateau, the world’s largest lava flow. Mount Kenya has major attractions which include: lakes, tarns, glaciers and mountain peakss. Its plains are at a high altitude. Here you can see elephants, tree hyrax, white tailed mongoose, suni, black fronted duiker, mole rat, bushbucks, water buck and elands. Animals rarely seen include leopard, bongo, giant forest hog and rhino, and over 130 species of birds. read more

The Laikipia plains are covered by open grasslands and basalt hills, with game roaming freely. This area is ideal for visitors who are interested in an excellent combination of culture and nature. read more

Lake Nakuru National Park is a haven for flamingoes and many other kind of birds. The park is also rich with different kind of wildlife, like waterbucks, rothschild giraffe and many others. I would recommend it for bird watching and also for game drives. There are lodges and camps where can stay in and feel the touch of nature. read more
