Day 1: Arusha – Arusha National Park
Pick up from your hotel in Arusha at around 08:30am and drive on a tarmac road 50Km (Approx. 1 hr) to Arusha National Park (552 Km2) with packed lunch. Over 400 species recorded in such a small park is quite an impressive count. A combination of the forest reserve, the Momella Lakes and the Ngurdoto crater does the magic. A closer look at the birds can be arranged with a walking Safari or canoeing. Watch out for Hartlaub's turaco, Lesser & Greater Flamingos. Other animals such as Zebras, Elephants, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Waterbucks, Colobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys, Baboons and many others reside here. Dinner and overnight at Campsite.
Day 2: Arusha National Park – Tarangire National Park
Pick up from the campsite in Arusha National Park at around 08:30am and drive on a tarmac road 120Km (Approx. 2 hrs) to Tarangire National Park (2,850 Km2) with packed lunch. Over 550 species have been recorded in this garden of baobabs, a playground for great herds of Elephants. Keep an open eye for Yellow collared lovebirds, Ashy starling, Rufous tailed weaver in the area. Other animals such as Lions, Cheetahs, Leopards, Wildebeests, Elands, Impala, Pythons, Warthogs, Mongoose and many others reside here. Dinner and overnight at Campsite.
Day 3: Tarangire National Park – Lake Manyara National Park
Pick up from your Campsite at around 08:30am and drive on a tarmac road 95 Km (Approx. 1.5 hrs) to Lake Manyara National Park (330 Km2). More than 400 species have been recorded; highlights include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration as well as other large water birds such as Pelicans, Storks and Cormorants. Other animals such as Elephants, Lions, Zebras, Baboons, Blue monkeys, Giraffes, Hippos and many more others are residents here. Bike tours can be arranged at an extra cost for a closer view of the wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Campsite.
Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park – Serengeti National Park
Pick up from your Campsite at around 08:30am and drive on a tarmac road 60 Km (Approx. 1 hr) to Olduare gate, then on a rough road 145 Km (Approx. 3 hrs) through Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Serengeti National Park (14,763 Km2) with packed lunch. More than 500 species have been recorded on this endless carpet of grasses, from the outsized Ostrich to the snake eating Secretary bird. Catch up with the huge herds of thousands of Wildebeests, Zebras and Gazelles that migrate seasonally. Dinner and overnight at Campsite.
Day 5: Serengeti National Park
Pick up from your Campsite at around 08:30am and continue exploring what these endless plains have to offer. Keep on the lookout for large raptors such as Lappet faced vultures, White backed vultures or Rüppell's griffon vultures soaring in the open blue sky. Go on a hunt for the lovely Fischer’s Lovebirds or other Endemics such as the Usambiro barbet or the Grey crested helmet-shrike. If lucky enough you can catch an action from the predators such as Lions and witness how the scavenging vultures steal their meals. Stay up late to catch up with the breath taking Savannah Sunset. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and overnight at Campsite.
Day 6: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater Rim
An early Bird catches the worm! Wake up early in the morning to catch up with the magnificent Sunrise and sing with the early risers of the savannah. After few hours of game drive, drive back to the Campsite for your Brunch and proceed to Ngorongoro Conservation Area 145 Km (Approx. 3 hrs) on a rough road. Walks on the Crater rim for a closer bird spotting can be arranged at an extra cost. Dinner and overnight at Campsite.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Cater Floor – Arusha
Wake up early in the morning and descend 610 meters deep into the “Africa’s Garden of Eden”, with over 500 species recorded both the Ngorongoro highlands and the crater offer excellent birding. Keep on the lookout for Grey crowned cranes, Lesser flamingos in the Lake Makat and the displaying Kori bustards. Watch out! For the Black kites snatching peoples lunches of their hands. The crater is also a home to Rhinos, Lions, Hyenas, Wildebeests, Zebras, Hippos, Elands and many more other animals. After hours of game drive, ascend up the crater and drive 190 Km back to Arusha.
