Day 1: Arusha - Tarangire National Park

Pick up from your hotel in Arusha at 0830am and drive on tarmac road 120km to Tarangire National Park (2,850 sq km) for game drives. Lunch picnic, there after lunch continue with afternoon game viewing in the park, a home to Lion, Leopard, Elephant, buffalo, Python, Zebra, Oryx, Impala and more. It's the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem. The swamps, tinged green year round, are the focus for 550 bird varieties, the most breeding species in one habitat anywhere in the world. On drier ground you find the Kori bustard, the heaviest flying bird; the stocking-thigh ostrich, the world's largest bird; and small parties of ground hornbills blustering like turkeys. More ardent bird-lovers might keep an eye open for screeching flocks of the dazzlingly colorful yellow-collared lovebird, and the somewhat drabber Rufus-tailed weaver and ashy starling. Dinner and overnight at Twiga Lodge.

Day 2: Lake Natron

Breakfast at 0700am. From Mto Wa Mbu close to Lake Manyara you drive via Engaruka Town towards Lake Natron on a partly bumpy and dusty road. En route you see many Masai villages, termite mounds, gazelle, giraffe, zebra, baboons, bee boxes, and birds such as vultures, ostrich, starlings, kori Bastards, and kites. The transfer takes you some 4- 5 hours through a wild, remote landscape dominated by the heights of the Ngorongoro Crater Highlands until you reach Lake Natron, located in the far northeast of Tanzania in between the Ngorongoro Highlands and Serengeti plains. In the afternoon you rest from your ride or visit one of the Masai Villages nearby your camp. From your camp you have a beautiful view towards the Natron plains with Masai passing on their daily way between Ngare Sero Village and Ngare Sero River, overlooked by Africa’s only active volcano Oldonyo Lengai (Mountain of God). Visit the water falls and the Masai village. Dinner and Overnight at Lake Natron Tented camp.

Day 3: Lake Natron - Serengeti National ParK

Breakfast at around 0600am. Pick up from the Camp at 0700am and drive to the Great Serengeti National Park (14,763 sq km or 5,700 sq mile’s) with your Picnic Lunch Packed and game drives en route via Masai village in Kimba. This village is worth visiting if you want a set up type photo of men and women dressed in traditional garb. Thereafter proceed to Serengeti National Park the home to lion, leopard, Elephant, Cheetah, Buffalo, Zebra, Wildebeest, Eland, Wild dog, Gazelles, Crocs and more. Serengeti is one of the most comprehensive and appealing internet presentations on nature, conservation and research in general. Every day, hundreds of nature-lovers and tourists from all over the world visit the virtual Serengeti. Today it is one of the most famous national parks on Earth, renowned for its magnificent lions but best known for its great migration. Lots of birds including the Eurasia migrants. Dinner and Overnight at Katikati Tented camp/Serengeti Savannah Tented Camp.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, continues with both morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti national Park. Remember this is the migration safari, so as Serengeti is very large as your game drives will depend on the move of the migrants, your guide knows very well how to locate the herds. The Serengeti National Park is famous for the 'Great Migration', over one million wildebeest and two hundred thousand plus zebras each year follow the rains. In October and November they travel from the mountains of the north, southwards to the plains seeking lush pastures. After the great rainy season in April, May, and June the herds then make their return ward journey. Even without this mass migration, the Serengeti is still an exciting and spectacular place that still cannot fail to enthrall. Dinner and Overnight at Katikati Tented camp/Serengeti Savannah Tented Camp.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater Rim

Wake up at 0600hours for early morning game drives in Serengeti at 0900 hours back to the camp for breakfast. Here in the Serengeti region you can often watch wildebeest and zebras next to lions and other big cats such as leopards and cheetahs. Lunch is taken at a picnic spot before a slow drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. On the way you will pass the Olduvai Gorge where the English pair, Louis and Mary Leak pioneered excavation work. In the sixties some of the earliest archaeological deposits of human evolution was found and a small museum (visit optional) documents these discoveries. Then check out and drive with lunch and game viewing en route to Ngorongoro Crater Rim. Dinner and Overnight at Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge/Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Floor - Lake Eyasi

Wake up early morning for breakfast then at 0730hours drive to Ngorongoro Crater where you will descend into the Crater floor (19.2 km of diameter, 610m deep, 304 sq km) for game drives. All the Big five Rhino, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Elephant live in this wonderful caldera, and many more mammals. Birds includes flamingos on the Soda lake, Geese, Storks, Vultures and more. Break for lunch at Ngoitoktok spring Picnic site. Ngorongoro Crater is often called 'Africa's Eden' the '8th Natural Wonder of the World'. A massive extinct volcano, its towering tree lined walls drop thousands of feet to a "Noah's Ark" of animals on the verdant floor below. This breathtaking oasis provides a haven for both predator and prey to live among grasslands, fresh springs and the large soda lake. Nowhere else can such a diversity in wildlife be experienced in such a short period of time. Thereafter drive to Lake Eyasi Moivaro Tindiga Tented Camp for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 7: Lake Eyasi - Lake Manyara National Park

In the morning after an early breakfast you will go with a local guide knowing about the different hadzabe clans and their present location to visit one of the families. The hadazbe are happy to provide you some insights in their daily often tough life in the bush, take you on a hunting or gathering walk and explain their daily nutrition consisting of roots and berries collected from shrubs and trees, hunted rodents, monkeys, birds, smaller mammals or the occasional kudu antelope. Learn about their ancient hunting methods and try your luck yourself to use bow and arrow back in the camp.
In the afternoon you visit either the Datoga Blacksmith or the Datoga Tribe in their Boma whatever has been missed the previous day or relax at the pool of your camp feed by a natural spring nearby the lake. Dinner and Overnight at Karatu Farm of Dream Lodge.

Day 8: Lake Manyara National Park - Arusha

Breakfast at 0600am. Pick up from Lodge at 0700am and drive with lunch box into Lake Manyara National Park (330 sq km or 127 sq mile’s) on the base of the Great Rift Valley, for the morning game drives. Lake Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s bird life. More than 400 species have been recorded, and even a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe 100 of these in one day. Highlights include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration, as well as other large water birds such as pelicans, cormorants and storks.
The park is home to Lion, Hippo, Elephant, Zebra, Buffalo, Giraffe, Baboon, Blue and Vervet monkey, Warthog and more…About 350 species of birds have been recorded. This small park contains also five distinct vegetation zones. Thus supporting a large variety of birds and animals. Thereafter Lunch proceed with Game drive en route to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport for the drop off.
