DAY ONE - Met on arrival into Chileka International Airport, Blantyre and transferred to the Satemwa Tea Estates for Huntingdon House (45 mins). Huntingdon House represents the soul of the estate and guests are invited to experience the re-birth of this historic property as it enters its next glorious era with modern comforts tastefully complementing charming 1920’s pieces. Huntington House is the original family home and the rooms are named in accordance with who used to sleep where. It is a great place to stop and relax, surrounded by sprawling manicured gardens with secret patios and terraces waiting to be discovered. Perfect for visitors that enjoy a temperate climate and a diverse scenery which ranges from tropical evergreen forests to riverine thickets and rolling hills. You are booked in for 2 nights on a full board basis.
DAY THREE - After breakfast will depart Huntingdon for Majete Game Reserve (2.5hrs). Thawale Lodge is a down-to-earth bush camp that provides excellent accommodation for visitors wishing to enjoy game viewing in the newly re-stocked reserve; it is not fenced so animals regularly visit the camp. Majete has been the scene of an impressive programme of re-location of a great range and impressive numbers of animals including elephant, buffalo, black rhino, sable antelope, zebra, eland, hartebeest and kudu. The wildlife reserve has recently undergone a transformation and guests can enjoy the wildlife from their private chalet balcony and watch the evening flow of animals come to the waterhole as they are having a sun downer. You have been booked in for 2 nights on a full board and activities (boat safari & game drive) basis.
DAY FIVE - Depart from Thawale Lodge and head towards one of Malawi’s finest parks – Liwonde National Park (3.5hrs). You will drive through the Ulongwe village and take a 2 minute transfer by boat across the Shire River to Mvuu Camp. You will be staying at Mvuu Camp on a full board basis including activities which revolve around boating trips on the Shire River and game drives (morning and afternoon/evening), nature walks and bike rides are also possible.
DAY SEVEN - This morning after breakfast you will depart Mvuu Camp for the southern lakeshore where you will be staying at Norman Carr Cottage. The lodge is situated at the beautiful Namakoma Bay at the Southern Lakeshore of Lake Malawi. With only 8 rooms, Norman Carr Cottage retains that small lodge feel and creates a true home away from home experience. The emphasis lies on quiet relaxation, good food and nothing that may be a vexation to the spirit. Evening and morning boat trips on the lodge boat ‘Alfie’ provide wonderful opportunities for snorkelling, swimming and feeding the fish eagles. The Norman Carr Cottage is a gentle and restful place with an idyllic sandy beach front that guarantees pure rest and relaxation. Your booking is for 3 nights on a full board basis.
DAY TEN - Today you will depart Norman Carr Cottage and head back to Blantyre for Chileka International Airport (3 hours) arriving 2 hours before your flight is scheduled to depart to check in.
