Day 1 …22nd August, 2016:
Arrival in Nairobi
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, where you will be met, greeted and be transferred by your Driver and Guide to Norfolk Hotel for an overnight stay on BB.
The Hotel Set in its own tranquil gardens, only a short distance from the city centre. The hotel offers accommodations in 165 guest rooms and suites, has eight conference rooms, the largest seating 175 delegates, a heated outdoor swimming pool, health club with gym, sauna and steam room and gift shops.
Day 2 …23rd August, 2016:
Samburu Game Reserve
After breakfast, check out from Norfolk Hotel at 0800hrs and be transferred to Wilson Airport for your Air Kenya domestic flight to Samburu Game Reserve, departing at 0915hrs. From the plane you have a wonderful view of the country side and can capture the vastness of the reserve. Arriving at around 1030hrs at Samburu airstrip, you will be met by your guide Andrew who will then transfer you to Samburu Ashnil Camp/Samburu Game Lodge.
Day 3 …24th August, 2016:
Samburu Game Reserve
You will spend this full day in Samburu Game Reserve at Samburu Ashnil camp, which magnificently sits in Buffalo Springs Game Reserve,- taking its name from an oasis of crystal clear water at the western end of the reserve.
At dawn, we commence our game drive around the reserve with packed breakfast and later return to the camp around midday. We will spend the afternoon at leisure before embarking on an evening game drive. Optional activities include a visit to a local Samburu Village or nature walk. FB
The reserve is a good place to watch elephants; Big Cats are also present in the area. After a short rest we will embark on our first game drive in the reserve. Dinner and overnight stay at Samburu Ashnil Camp. FB
Samburu Game reserve is located in the semi arid land in Samburu District.
The land is characterized by rugged terrains dominated by dramatic hills with acacia and Doum palm trees along the Ewaso Nyiro river, the riverline of this beautiful arid lands is home to fantastic bird life and rare species of animals including Somali Ostrich, Besia Oryx, Gerenuk, gravy Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe and Greater Kudu.
Day 4 …25th August 2016:
Masai Mara Game Reserve
After breakfast, you will be transferred by the camp vehicle to Samburu Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Masai Mara Game Reserve departing at 0830hrs to arrive at 1030hrs. You will be met on arrival by your guide who will then transfer you to Mara Serena.
Day 5 …26thAugust, 2016: Mara Game Drive
You will spend this full day with game drive in these plains in search for more animals. With morning and afternoon game drives. You could depart from the camp at 06.30hrs with a picnic breakfast and return to the camp later in the mid-morning. Alternatively, if you wish to go on an early morning game drive and return to the lodge for breakfast it can also be arranged. Optional activities include Hot air balloon ride and Masai cultural visit.
Masai Mara Game Reserve, which means ‘the dotted plains’ in the local Masai language, occupies an area of about 800 square miles and is world famous for its concentration of animals including the Wildebeest and Zebra migration in the months of July throughout October. The reserve is also home to thousands of plain game which are preyed on by the big cats and spotted hyena.
Enjoy an evening game drive in search for more animals in their natural habitats. Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Serena Lodge on FB
Day 6 …27th August, 2016: Mara Ashnil Tented Camp
Depart early morning with picnic breakfast. Take a game drive en-route to Mara Ashnil Tented Camp arriving in time for lunch. Have afternoon at leisure before embarking on the evening game drive in search more animals. Have dinner and overnight stay at Mara Ashnil tented Camp on full board basis.
Day 7 …28th August, 2016 Mara Ashnil Tented Camp
Enjoy game drive around the Mara in search for more game including an opportunity to spot the big five; Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant. Game drive is flexible, with the option visit to a local Masai village whereby you can interact with the Local people and learn about their culture and traditions Overnight stay at the Mara Ashnil Camp. Day 8 …29th August, 2016: NAIROBI
Enjoy your morning game drive in this reserve which captures the true spirit of East Africa due to its indisputable rich game. This is yet another chance for you to view wildlife which includes; Mammals, Amphibians, Reptiles and Birds. Return to your lodge for a hearty breakfast. Have the mid morning at leisure. Later in the afternoon you will be transferred to Olkiombo air strip for your Air Kenya flight to Nairobi.
You will be met by Topcats safaris representative at Wilson Airport and transferred to Carnivore Restaurant for your fare well dinner.
Evening transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your home bound flight.
