DAY 1, 2 AND 3
Masai Mara is suitable for Kenya Camping Safaris for the budget traveler as well as Kenya Luxury Safaris for those seeking great comfort during their Kenya Safari. We offer both options for all our Safaris in Kenya.
We shall drive from Nairobi to the Masai Mara National Park stopping for lunch on the way. We shall arrive in time for an early afternoon game drive and some sight seeing before retiring for the night at either the Lodge or Camp.
The wild life is far from confined within the reserve. The Thompson's and Gant's gazelle, topi, eland and many more species of the plain's game offer a rich choice of food for the dominant predators: the lion, leopard and cheetah which hunt in this pristine wilderness.
In the Mara river be sure to catch the hippo or the seemingly drowsy crocodile waiting with subtle cunning for prey at which to strike at with lightning swiftness.
Ever heard of the great march of the wildebeest? It is estimated that more than half a million wildebeest enter the Mara and are joined by another 100,000 from the east of Mara, trekking to the Kenyan border. There is nowhere on earth to compare this wildlife marvel. Driving in the midst of this herds is an unimaginable experience.
The next two days will be spent game viewing and sight seeing in this natural wonderland.
All meals will be served from the accommodation area.
We shall leave the Masai Mara for Lake Nakuru National Park. There will be a late morning morning game drive at the park followed in the afternoon by an optional nature walk. Lake Nakuru, often referred to as the Pink Lake, is world famous as the location of the greatest bird spectacle – the flamingo. The lake is also rich in bird life with 400 resident species
Dinner and an overnight stay at the Lake Nakuru Lodge or a budget hotel nearby.
The day will start with a morning game viewing at the park, which offers a wide variety of small game such as the Rhino, Waterbuck, Impala, Buffalo and Gazelle
We shall then proceed to Lake Baringo also known as the explorers country. Apart from the hippos and crocodile the remains of fort Baringo are still visible to view. Dinner and overnight rest will be within/near the Lake.
We shall start this day with an early morning visit to the Lake Bogoria. This is the true naturalists lake with flamingos in their thousands The hot water geysers and fearsome femoral may be explored on foot. Game is far from plentiful but one can find and photograph the great kudu.
