I visited in April 2015
Sometimes it is extremely very difficult to choose safaris in Africa from afar as so much depends on the itinerary, the quality of guides, the reliability of transport as well as the tour operator and the accommodation chosen and comparisons are hard to make owing to the dozens of tour operators available for a given destination. I chose to make my enquiry from Swift Travel Company based on numerous reviews.
Checking on their website were several itineraries that closely matched what I was specifically looking for. At first I was impressed timings and attention given to each location in terms of time and their choice of accommodation. With this information at hand I contacted Swift Travel and from thereon each of the many we exchanged concerning the safari re-enforced my feeling that my husband and I were going to have a good experience in East Africa. The replies came in swiftly to all my queries and I especially liked all the pre-safari information and the attention to detail regarding each of the destinations we were to visit.
After much deliberation, we settled on the 12-Day Kenya and Tanzania with few changes on accommodation as we wished to spoil ourselves in luxury being our Golden jubilee. We stayed at the Tortilis camp, the Tarangire tree tops, Lemala manyara, maintained Ngorongoro Serena based on it’s fabulous location, the Serengeti under canvas, wanted to feel and be as close as possible to the wildlife and in the Masai Mara we chose the Kicheche Valley. We skipped Lake Nakuru from the original itinerary; we wanted to maximize time in one location rather than spending time on the roads. David was concerned that the East Africa safari would be a letdown owing to some past failures by tour operators in Egypt and Namibia; this was absolutely far from it!
To a greater or lesser extent, you can see animals on every safari you go on in Africa. None of our game drives disappointed us in this regard in all the beautiful parks we visited. We saw some amazing landscapes, beautiful birds and elegant animals, but after years of traveling I’m more interested in having experiences and connecting with the local people and if possible interacting with them than just “seeing”.
This safari gave us the opportunity to meet people and learn a thing or two about their culture and make friendships that I wouldn't have been able to make otherwise. Lasting memories for Africa has already etched somewhere in my brain and hopefully will return someday.
As many others have already said, the drivers and guides were fantastic and we really appreciated their ability to give us extensive information about East Africa. I cannot find a single fault on the 5 properties that we stayed at, pretty much more comfortable than our and most of other people’s homes in all aspects!
Highlights of the safari was of course seeing the big five and hundreds of other animals and gaining so much knowledge of their behaviors and habitats, amazing lands etc. Most of all the experiences I had with the wonderful East African people have created memories that will last for years to come.
We were looking for something special and Swift Travel and the entire team just made it.
Just a quick one to say a huge thanks for sorting out our trip. We got back yesterday and I can safely say the whole thing exceeded our expectations on pretty much every level. We also had an opportunity to visit the baby elephants at the Sheldrick orphanage and loved the whole conservation idea, great work by this organization. The babies get very special care tha...
in 1985 as a young girl I visited Africa with my family for the first time. Ever since, this has been mys second home as I have had over 22 safari vocations to Africa since then. I like it rugged and off the beaten path.

I and my two friends went to Kenya for a short, 4-night safari and we had a great time. We visited Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara and stayed at the Sarova Lodge and the Mara Serena, both lodges were not luxurious but comfortable.
The booking was easy as we completed it online. We had a good, knowledgeable guide and experienced guide, Paul and a comfortable all weat...
What can say, Swift Travel organised the trip of a lifetime without any hitches and at a price we could not match elsewhere. We booked flight only to Nairobi and were picked up from the airport and taken straight on Safari by Joseph in our own Safari Jeep. We passed many buses/Jeeps with 6 or even 7 passengers and stuffed with luggage. Tsavo East, Tsavo West, Ambos...

We want to thank you for your immaculate planning and organization. The safari was super, Timothy a great guide and driver. He knew everything there was to know about the animals and was a real professional in his job.

We have just had a fantastic holiday; 8 Adults, 4 teens and 3 children and I must say that we had a glamorous time despite the very wet weather.
To start with, from the outset I was thoroughly impressed with Joseph, what a truck. Even the corrugation and crazy mud on the dirt roads seemed a breeze. Joseph is professional, bright, fun to be with & an extremely kn...
This could possibly qualify for the best vacation we have had in Years. We really enjoyed our safari with Swift Travel and I am particularly thankful for their efforts.
We also appreciated the attentiveness to minor details like our dietary requirements as well as removing some seats from the jeep to accommodate my husband who could not comfortably bend his knee...
My husband and I have just returned from a two-week holiday in Kenya and I must say that it was really fantastic. We took the 8 days Oryx safari with Swift Travel Management. We have just settled back and I would like to thank Swift Safari Company so much for making our safari a great and happy adventure. Our trip was fantastic thanks to the great care and concern from our guide John. I still cannot believe we saw so many animals and birds.
