Day 1: Kampala - Kibale
Today we shall pick you up from your hotel in Kampala and then drive west of Kampala to Kibale. Lunch at Fort Portal Gardens Restaurant. Proceed to Kibale Forest National Park and then proceed to Kanyanchu for afternoon chimpanzee tracking session. Overnight Chimpanzee Forest Guest House.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking – QENP
Today after an early morning breakfast we shall go to Kanyanchu briefing centre for chimpanzee trekking briefing and then the hike in the forest in search of the primates. After that drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, past the majestic glaciers of the Rwenzori Mountains of the Moon. If time allows we shall do the evening game drive in QENP. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Hostels

Day 3: Game drives and boat cruise
After an early morning game drive we shall return for our breakfast and then an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel where we shall see elephants, hippos crocodiles among others. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Hostels

Day 4: Mweya Peninsula – Ishasha Sector
After breakfast, early morning games drive and then proceed to Ishasha sector famous for the tree climbing lions. In this section there are also large herds of buffalos, elephants, countless antelopes among others. Ishasha UWA Bandas

Day 5: Ishasha QENP - Bwindi National Park, Buhoma
After breakfast, we shall do an early morning game drive in the Ishasha plains. Return for lunch and then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. We shall arrive to the lush green forest home to the gentle giants, mountain gorillas. The forest is also wonderful region for birdwatching with a bird list of 350 species including seven which are IUCN red data listed and 90% of all Albertine rift endemics. Overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas.

Day 6: Walking safari
Today after breakfast we shall begin our walking safari from the park headquarters at Buhoma to the Southern Sector of the park at Nkuringo. The walking safari will reward you with different forest bird species, some primates, local communities’ experience, and lush green environment among others. Dinner and overnight at Nkuringo Gorilla Campsite.

Day 7: Gorilla Tracking – Kisoro
After an early morning breakfast we shall have briefing at Nkuringo as we prepare to track the famous mountain gorillas. Tracking can take to 2-8 hours depending on the movement. The experience is once in a lifetime as we get up-close with our distant cousins. It’s well worth it and afterwards with packed lunch enroute we shall proceed to Kisoro town. Overnight at Golden Monkey.

Day 8: Hiking at Mgahinga Gorilla National Park – Lake Bunyonyi
Today after early morning breakfast we shall go for a grueling hiking expedition on one of the volcanoes on Mt. Mgahinga National Park. The 8 chains of volcanoes stretch from the border of DR. Congo, Uganda and Rwanda and are also home to the famous Mountain Gorillas groups which were documented by Dian Fossey, an American Zoologist who did a study and founded Karisoke Research Centre on the Rwandan side of the Virungas. After the day’s experience we shall drive to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale. Overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Overland Resort.

Day 9: Lake Bunyonyi – Lake Mburo National Park
Known as the ‘place of little birds, Lake Bunyonyi is a beautiful lake known for its birds and waters which are favourable for swimming plus the numerous island that dot it. We shall have breakfast at a leisurely pace, a possible early morning swim and after lunch transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Lake Mburo National Park is a special place with colour rolling savannah and game. Lake Mburo National Park is the other park in Uganda with Zebras after Kidepo Valley National Park in the North East and also a prime place for birdwatching with the following species; Rufous-bellied Heron, Bateleur, Coqui Francolin, Grey Crowned Crane, Black-bellied Bustard, Brown-chested Lapwing, Emerald-spotted Wood-Dove, Brown Parrot, Red-headed Lovebird, Ross’s Turaco, Bare-faced Go-away-bird, Green Wood-hoopoe, Common Scimitarbill, White-headed Barbet, Red-faced Barbet, Nubian Woodpecker, Red-shouldered Cuckoo-shrike, Long-tailed Cisticola, Yellow-breasted Apalis, White-winged Tit and Finfoot among others. Day 10: Lake Mburo National Park - Kampala.
We shall do an early morning nature walk, return to the hotel for breakfast and after the breakfast we shall proceed to Kampala, enroute a stopover at the Equator for photo-shoots and souvenirs before arriving late afternoon in Kampala. Subsequent end of the trip where you will be transferred to your hotel or the airport.
