If you’re flying into Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, your Game Ranger will pick you up off your midday flight for your 4 day Kruger tented safari. Then there’s a leisurely 40 minute drive up to the Kruger National Park, where we enter the game-rich Southern region of the park by the Numbi Gate.
In order to keep cost down for 2015, we will drop you off after your safari at OR Tambo Airport, where you can either catch the Gautrain for a fifteen minute ride to Sandton, or you can waut for one of the hotel shuttle busses that run on a fifteen or thirty minute rotation.
If you are travelling to Pretoria, the Shell Garage, in Burnett Street, Hatfield is the drop off between 16h00 and 16h45.
From Numbi Gate we drive towards Nkambeni Safari Lodge for check in and lunch. After lunch and a swim if you prefer you will depart on your Sundowner Drive which departs at 16h30pm and returns to camp for dinner at 19h30pm.
The lodge consists of Luxury timber and canvas suites with twin beds, bathroom en-suite with an indoor and outdoor shower, as well as a viewing deck overlooking the African Bushveld, where you may spot various antelope, elephants, rhino or lion coming down to the waterhole in front of the dining area where the resident hippo are at play. You may also wish to enjoy an afternoon swim before dinner. A full bar is also available for all drinks and sundowners. This lodge is totally eco friendly without impacting on the environment. Dinner will be served in the dining hall at 19h30 where a buffet dinner will be served with various salads, vegetables and meats, catering for Vegetarians, vegans and meat lovers. A dessert table is also offered with numerous desserts, tea and coffee is also available to enjoy after dinner.
Your second day of your Kruger Park Kruger tented safari starts early in the Kruger park in order to have a greater chance of seeing the elusive cats still on the prowl. A Bushwalk conducted by armed Rangers departs at 06h30am and returns to camp for breakfast and time to freshen up before you leave camp once again for your morning game drive You will return to camp mid – afternoon for late lunch and a bit of a break and then you go out again at about 15h30pm for another short drive before gate closing time.
This morning after breakfast at 06h30 we depart for the another game drive making our way past waterholes and riverines looking for the elusive leopard or cheetah stopping off at various rest camps and picnic areas for bathroom stops and shopping at the camps curio shops. We return to camp just before gate closing time, so that you may either enjoy a swim or shower before dinner is served in the dining area overlooking the hippo waterhole. Enjoy a sundowner in the bar area and chat about your 4 day Kruger tented safari experience.
This morning you have the opportunity of going out on another early morning game drive before departing the park at 09h00am for your return to Nelspruit for your 10h00am departure back to Johannesburg.
If you’re flying out of one of the airports close to the KrugerPark, you will probably be lucky enough to spend an extra couple of hours viewing game. Your ranger will ensure that you leave the park in plenty of time to catch your flight from either Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) or Mpumalanga Airport (MQP)
