I visited in July 2013
In July 2013 Team Australia (five intrepid adventurers) set off on a trip to Africa - a dream for me! Our trip was managed by Donna Duggan of MAASAI WANDERINGS based in Arusha Tanzania and Clifton Sylk who is based in Brisbane, Queensland Australia. I cannot sing the praises of this company highly enough. I must have driven Donna up the wall changing dates and destinations and asking a million questions. Donna always answered my emails promptly and gave advice when needed. The same applied to Clifton who managed the Cape Town, Botswans, Cbobe and Victoria Falls section of our trip and Donna Arusha, Serengeti and Zanzibar section of the trip. We had back up from both people all the way while in Africa. We loved it all.
In Botswana we stayed in Moremi Crossing Camp, we would highly recommend it. They even put on a surprise lunch for us on one of the islands overseen by a very lunch elephant! Moses our guide was outstanding and knowledgeable and very funny!!!
In Tanzania we had our lovely Peter (in the photo) to take us through the Serengeti. We stayed at Tarangire (lovely lodge) Ngorongoro (take a jacket)and Nasikia Central Camp in the Serengeti.
Peter was a wonderful guide and companion (we still keep in contact). If you go to the Serengeti stay in a camp for at least two nights don't stay in a lodge you need to experience the magic of hearing
the animals at night around the camp. What more can I say I would love to go back and maybe I will. Thanks to Donna and Clifton we had great flights between places we visited. All on time and no problems with connections anywhere. Africa now has a place in my heart, the people we met and the beautiful animals.
You will miss something very special if you don't go!!!
It is with reluctance that I post this review as the guides and ancillary staff we encountered in the Masai Wanderings tented camps were superb: well trained, professional, courteous, good fun and very knowledgeable. It was a pleasure to be with them. We saw some marvellous sights.
The problem was the cavalier attitude towards clients (clients paying a lot for th...
What a wonderful safari. Maasai Wanderings organised the trip according to all requests and gave even more. The whole trip exceeded any expectations we had. The two drivers we had in Kenya (Antonio) and Tanzania Chris) were extremely respectful, intelligent, knowledgeable and ethical. We were impressed with their patience of our continual questions and requests for...
Our group of four (family and friends) worked directly with Donna at Maasai Wanderings to customize a safari to fit our interests. From arrival at Kilimanjaro to departure from the Lobo airstrip for a Zanzibar beach stay, everything was beautifully planned. We began with an day trip to Arusha Nat'l Park to 'meet' our first wildlife and take time for a ranger-led h...
Our trip, organised entirely by Maasai Wanderings, was the most incredible holiday my husband and I have experienced. From the moment we arrived, everything was organised and such a smooth process. All our accommodation was 5 star and the service from staff always of such a high standard.
Our guide collected us from the airport and spent the next 7 days with us...
We spent 8 nights on a Northern circuit safari in Tanzania and it was just incredible!
Our guide Muba was excellent.....he always seemed to be in just the right place at just the right time for spotting wildlife! He was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient....THE perfect guide!
The standard of accommodation was excellent, we especially loved Naona Moru camp an...
We have just recently come back from a week with Maasai Wanderings in the Serengeti and I have to say it was the best holiday we have ever had.
From the very start when Peter, our guide/driver collected us at Kilimanjaro, travel weary and a little unsure what we were about to encounter to the very end when Peter dropped us back at Arusha, it was magical. The mi...
We did a two-day wildlife safari followed by climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. The trip was organized by Maasai Wanderings and they did an excellent job in every respect.
Our wildlife safari was at Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater and it only whetted our appetite for more. I hope we can return for a longer safari in a year or two. We had an outstanding guide, Ever...
