Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti Wonderful Adventure.

Written on: December 05, 2014   |   I visited in July 2014 My husband and I were delighted with the responsiveness, efficiency and general professionalism of Maasai Wanderings. We wanted to visit both the Ngorongoro Crater and go to the Mara River for a hoped for wildebeest migratory crossing. Donna in the office always replied to our many and varied questions extremely promptly and formulated an itinerary which was ideal for us.
The vehicles were not plush, but they were utilitarian and exactly what was needed for the bumpy roads and multitudes of gulleys in the nature reserves. Our driver for the whole trip was David Anatory and I cannot praise him highly enough. His knowledge of the local flora and fauna was second to none, he even made a tortoise interesting! More importantly though he knew the habitat and animal habits so well we often saw things with his “pole pole” (slowly, slowly) attitude that a lot of the other tour guides missed for their clients; for example he spotted a leopard on a huge boulder quite a long distance from the road and we watched for 20 minutes whilst a small group of zebra wandered by (which could have, but did not, result in a chase) – two other vehicles saw us, stopped, assumed we were only watching the zebra and drove off – seeing an elusive leopard, one of the “big five” is a bonus and you need a good guide. For us, and many of you reading this review, this is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure holiday – choose wisely, choose Maasai Wanderings.

My husband and I, and a friend of ours, booked a safari through Maasai Wanderings. We started planning the trip over a year ago, and throughout the entire process Donna was always very helpful and so quick to respond to all questions.

We spent 2 nights at the Ndovo Camp at Tarangire National Park, 2 nights at Plantation Lodge near the Ngorongoro Crater and 3 ni... read more

Maasai Wanderings puts together a spectacular safari that I'll always remember. Driver/guides knew everything and could find anything you wanted to see.

We stayed at Nasikia Luxury Camps which is a sister company of Maasai Wanderings. Accommodations for 5 star and dinning was right up there at the top.

I highly recommend Maasai Wanderings to anyone planning... read more

We had been thinking about a safari for several years, and in January decided to use Maasai Wanderings based on a friend's recommendation. The experience was incredible. We saw an unbelievable variety and number of animals including lions, zebras, elephants, hippos, cheetahs, leopards and buffalo.

A buffalo was grazing outside our room at Rhino Lodge - so close... read more

I travelled with an amazing group of people in June and visited the Serenegti National Park and adjacent areas. We explored the region in vehicle and on foot.

The team with Masaai Wanderings and Nasikia Camps that we stayed in were just superb. Every moment was filled with awe and the knowledge of the guide was supreme. We travelled the extent of the Serenegti ... read more

We had an amazing safari experience in Tanzania thanks to Perfect Africa and Masai Wanderings. I booked through Perfect Africa - Natalie was a pleasure to work with, she was friendly, responsive and answered my (many !) questions and accommodated my constantly changing itinerary.

Our guide, Kurwa, picked us up after our pre-arranged Kilimanjaro hike, and we had... read more

It is with reluctance that I post this review as the guides and ancillary staff we encountered in the Masai Wanderings tented camps were superb: well trained, professional, courteous, good fun and very knowledgeable. It was a pleasure to be with them. We saw some marvellous sights.
The problem was the cavalier attitude towards clients (clients paying a lot for th... read more

What a wonderful safari. Maasai Wanderings organised the trip according to all requests and gave even more. The whole trip exceeded any expectations we had. The two drivers we had in Kenya (Antonio) and Tanzania Chris) were extremely respectful, intelligent, knowledgeable and ethical. We were impressed with their patience of our continual questions and requests for... read more

Our group of four (family and friends) worked directly with Donna at Maasai Wanderings to customize a safari to fit our interests. From arrival at Kilimanjaro to departure from the Lobo airstrip for a Zanzibar beach stay, everything was beautifully planned. We began with an day trip to Arusha Nat'l Park to 'meet' our first wildlife and take time for a ranger-led h... read more

Our trip, organised entirely by Maasai Wanderings, was the most incredible holiday my husband and I have experienced. From the moment we arrived, everything was organised and such a smooth process. All our accommodation was 5 star and the service from staff always of such a high standard.

Our guide collected us from the airport and spent the next 7 days with us... read more
