I visited in October 2015
This was our first trip to Africa with this tour operator (Kapolondo Expeditions) I must say they were excellent. We received full support from Tony Kapolondo from the first minute we arrived to Kilimangaro airport. They paid great attention to detail and are incredibly knowledgeable. Our trip was fantastic . Overall we had a trip of a lifetime and all aspects of our travel were attended to from airport pickups to accommodations. The Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater are the best places to have a safari.
Our driver/guide Mr.Humphrey, made our journey perfect. He was very smart and knew everything about the animals, plants and trees.
There is such a variety of animals and so much action!! We will never forget the wildebeest crossing, the lioness carrying a baby, hunting and killing a baby gazelle, the leopard eating a kill.....everyday there was something new surrounded by a wonderful landscape. A quick note should also be made about the accommodations on our safari...all were beautifully appointed and always with such friendly and helpful staff. We felt very pampered and were quite honestly surprised at the attention to detail.
Comfortable car, very good accommodation, best services, it is Kapolondo Expedition!!
Big thanks to Tony and Mr.Humphrey for creating such a great itinerary for us...and for giving us so many great memories that will last a lifetime. We totally recommend the company.
After extensive research in early 2016, we booked with Kapolondo Expeditions in August of 2016.
ONE WEEK before we were set to leave for Africa in February of 2017, Tony informed me that he is having issues with a license and asked us to rescheduled for June of 2017. I told him that this is not possible and I booked with another company.
I was in a group of 10 on a safari with Kapolondo Expeditions in end June 2016. We had fully paid for our safari a month before. However, at the Serengeti National Park, Tony told his driver to get all of us to pay for the entrance fee and he will repay us the next day. Otherwise, we will not be able to enter. Left without a choice, we paid over USD630 for the 10 o...
After good reviews on Internet, I contacted Tony Kopolondo in July 2015 and booked the 15-day Kenya and Tanzania safari tour. I transferred 50% of the tour cost to his bank account in Tanzania on July 11, 2015. The original tour departure date was June 22, 2016.
I sent my flight details in May 2016, one month before the tour schedule date and asked Tony to send m...
Let me start off by saying that I booked with this company based on the very specific itinerary that they offered and because of the great reviews. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!! Either "Tony" the company owner/manager decided that he didn't want to do his job and provide the exact itinerary that we booked and paid for, or "Tony" just doesn't have the clout and ability t...
We bought a luxury safari, especially because we travelled with a 9 month baby. We needed security and comfort.
But, instead, we had to stay in budget lodge (We paid 4720 USD per person). When we told him we were angry, he did nothing. During all the safari, he didn't respect his contract, he never informs us in advance of change. If he was correct, if an hotel i...
My friends and I (5 Malaysians, 4 Americans and 1 European nationalities) booked a safari for 10 persons with Kapolondo Expeditions (through Tony Kapolondo) from 27th June to 5th July 2016. We went on that safari and stayed three nights at Serengeti National Park and a few other national parks and venues. Unfortunately, we were scammed during the trip. Details are ...
Beware. We appreciated all the promises and communications with Tony before our trip.
Upon arrival (which was late), he changed prices, gave us a junky car that needed to be push started daily, changed every place we had hand picked to sleep at, was late in depositing funds onto the atm card our driver/guide had to use to enter the park, changed our time in Taran...
Kapolondo Expeditions is not a good travel agency. We had reserved a private safari with luxury lodges,
instead we had to travel with a another man in cheap lodge or hotel outside park. The itinery had been changed without our agreement.
For example, one day at Ngorongoro instead of two, and not in Sopa Lodge that we had reserved and paid. We were placed in a ve...
I move a lot for work, and I'm a very frequent traveler having been to probably 40-something countries and counting. It's kind of a tradition of mine that I take a trip every year on my birthday. Six months prior to it, I must have seen something online about Ngorongoro Crater or Zanzibar, and it really stuck in my head. After about a month of consideration I to...
