Day 1: Arrival for the Rwanda gorilla trekking
On arrival at the airport, welcomed by a Kagera Safaris representative and transferred to your hotel in Kigali. Explore Kigali depending on time of arrival with a visit to the Genocide Memorial, craft centers, Kandt National Museum and Belgium camp – we shall choose a few because in the afternoon we travel to Ruhengere. Have lunch in the city and proceed to the Volcanoes national park.
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Volcanoes national park
Today track the gorillas in their natural habitats of the Virunga. The rainforest is dense offering great scenic and photo opportunities. The forest is also home to different primates, birdlife, and butterflies – this is a memorable experience.
Tracking gorillas lasts 1 hour to 7 hours depending on their location. In case the activity is finished in the morning, there is an option of visiting the Batwa – an indigenous tribe that lived in the forest or a visit to the twin lakes.
Day 3: Departure
This marks the end of your safari. After a breakfast, your guide will transfer you to Kigali to return to your hotel or take your flight.
