I visited in January 2016
My husband and I booked a 7-day camping safari for the northern safari circuit (Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro) and a 3-day trek on Mt. Kilimanjaro in January 2016. We had chosen the company Happy World Safaris out of 15 different organisations and we were glad we did so.
Happy World Safaris is a small organisation run by Joseph. Communication was very good, all my questions were answered in detail and the evening before the safari and trek we had a good briefing about what to expect, what to bring... Each time we also met the guide during this briefing, which is also good I think.
Tony was our driver/guide for the entire safari. He was very friendly and he did his utmost to show us as many animals as possible. Tony has really good eyes, he spotted for example a leopard in a tree which I could not even see without binoculars. And we saw several other safari cars driving past this leopard. His knowledge about the different animals (including so many species of birds) is really amazing. He also proved his driving skills when we were in the middle of a storm.
The food during our safari was excellent. Enock was our cook. Every day he impressed us with a delicious menu: soup, main course, fruit as desert. On the way home, I even asked him for the recipes!
The main reason why we chose a camping safari was because of the price, compared to the expensive lodges. But really, I was very glad with the camping, because it's a lot more adventurous! My husband spent hours during the night just listening to the sounds of nightly wildlife.
On the way back to our hotel, Joseph joined us and checked if everything was to our satisfaction.
Three days after our safari, we went on a 3-day trek on the Kilimanjaro. The day before we had our briefing and met our guide Habib. He gave a good explanation. Although I still don't understand why they call the Marangu route the 'coca cola' route. We successfully completed our 3 days trek, but it wasn't as easy as drinking cola :-D. Aside from that, we had a nice experience, good and helpful guides, a good cook once again, and even a waiter (also a porter). And of course, the porters are not to be forgotten, carrying weight up to 20 kg. Thank you all very much!
After the hike we recovered for 1 (lazy) day and then we still had a free, unplanned day left before going back to Belgium. I contacted Joseph from Happy World Safaris and he offered us a day trip safari to Arusha National Park, again with our nice guide Tony. It had only been six days since we completed our 7-day safari, and we already missed it so much. This last day was also a very good experience, we had a great time and Joseph and Tony even got me a present for my birthday!
All I can say is, thank you so much everybody from Happy World Safaris for giving us this wonderful experience that we will remember and cherish for the rest of our lives!
I did my safari in Tanzania with Happy World. 5 days (Tarangire/Serengueti/Ngorongoro). There are many options out there and since it's pretty expensive we didn't want to take risks so I decided to book with Happy World because a couple friends have had an amazing trip with them.

I joined Happy World Safaris for a six-day safari over Christmas 2015.
