Because Machame Mweka route traverses river valleys on the Southern Slopes, it is recommended that climbers must be physically fit, and with the additional day on trek to assist with acclimatization, there is a good chance of reaching the summit - Uhuru Peak.
Day 1: You will be picked from the hotel and transferred to Machame Gate (1800m). From the gate commence a trek (6-8 hours) through thick mountain forest to Machame Camp (3000m). At Machame Camp you will have dinner and overnight.
