Walk and drive in 49,000 acres of wilderness where you rarely see another person. See amazing game both in open sided vehicles and on foot. Our knowledgeable guide Richard has a second nature for where game will be and behave getting you into the perfect spot to take photo's and to sit back and watch.
Our 4x4 and walking safaris are operated in Lolldaiga Hills. Lolldaiga Hills is a 49,000 acre cattle ranch and wildlife conservancy. Located 20 km North West of Mount Kenya at an altitude of between 1,800 – 2,300m, the Ranch has outstanding and uninterrupted views of Mount Kenya and the Aberdares. The Lolldaiga range is an ancient land form, comprising of a series of magnificent high folding hills, cedar forests, open grassland and wooded valleys
Walk and drive amongst herds of zebra, impala, eland, gazelles and hartebeest. Come almost within touching distance of the many reticulated giraffe and slowly approach a herd of elephant or buffalo. If you are really lucky we may even stumble upon a pride of lion or track down a leopard.
Arrive by road to Olepangi Farm, driving through the beautiful Kikuyu Highlands, arriving in time for a hearty lunch. Spend the afternoon as you like. Perhaps a visit to see our donkeys, tortoises and resident Jersey cows. Enjoy a walk around the 120 acre farm and enjoy the local scenery. Or just relax ready for sun-downers and followed by dinner down on the river by a roaring fire. With luck we’ll have a magnificent night of glorious stars and “whoops” from the local hyenas.
Early risers can watch the sun rise over the mountain. We’ll drive out from our farm after breakfast to Loldaiga Ranch often referred to as the most beautiful ranch in all of Kenya. It is a great privilege that we have use of this private ranch for it is a wonder to behold. We’ll take our time enjoying the scenery and wildlife along the way. We’ll have a good chance of seeing elephant, giraffe, buffalo and, with luck, many other species. We’ll arrive in the afternoon in time for a rest followed by sun-downers and dinner around the campfire.
Wake up to a cup of tea or coffee in bed, followed by a light breakfast of toast and muesli. We’ll then head off into a different direction each morning, enjoying the quiet and tranquility of this 49,000 acre private game reserve. Drive through open plains following giraffe, zebra, antelope, elephant, buffalo; whatever’s out there. Back to camp for another brilliant lunch outside with the guides and there’s always some wine on offer to encourage a little nap before afternoon tea. Walking is also a great adventure and on foot you notice the smaller things often overseen when in a game vehicle. The bird-life is some of the best in the world and towards sunset there is often elephant interaction to enjoy. We’ll have sun-downers in one of our special places with views that will take your breath away!
Day 5 – After breakfast drive back through Lolldaigas to Olepangi farm. Spend your last afternoon relaxing or try your hand at archery or a game of croquet. You may choose to extend your trip with an additional night at the farm to relax before your onward journey.
