From Kenya's Northern Frontier to the Mara National Reserve through plantations of Pineapple, to looking for Elephants, Lions, Leopards, and Cheetahs that thrive in the reserve’s grasslands and acacia woodlands. We'll move on to vast flocks of brightly colored Pink Flamingos that spend many hours sifting their comb-like beaks along the surface to eat the mineral enriched algae. Finally We depart Nakuru for the most famous game reserve in Masai Mara the best place to see all the big five and thousands of herbivores that know this place to be home. It has a variety of vegetation and therefore supports many animal species.

Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu

You will be met by our airport representative at the airport. After a light breakfast in a city hotel,

we travel by road to Kenya’s northern frontier. We travel overland through plantations of Pineapple, coffee and tea farmlands in the fertile central highlands. The drive goes beyond the equator, enter the northern frontier. On a clear day you may enjoy the white peaks of Mt Kenya. Wild and rugged, Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid savannahs watered by the lovely Uaso Nyiro River. It is also one of Kenya’s most protected areas and home to species only found north of the equator, from the reticulated giraffe to Grevy’s zebras and Beisa Oryx. Lunch dinner and overnight at Samburu Sopa lodge.

Day 2: Samburu Game Reserve

Early morning we start our day in the bush before the dew is off the grass. We head off to look for Elephants, Lions, Leopards, and Cheetahs that thrive in the reserve’s grasslands and acacia woodlands. And so the day is spent in alternating pursuits of exploration in the bush and relaxation in our cozy lodge.

Dinner and overnight at Sopa lodge.

Day 3: Samburu-Lake Nakuru

Today we set out for the only pink lake in Africa. We shall arrive in time for lunch at lodge. Lake Nakuru is home to millions of flamingos that dwell in these salty waters. Due to the extremely high abundance of algae along the shallow shore line of the Lake, vast flocks of brightly colored Pink Flamingoes spend many hours sifting their comb-like beaks along the surface to eat the mineral enriched algae. However the number of flamingos on the lake will depend on the water levels. Lake Nakuru is also home to both black and white Rhino. It was once a sanctuary for the endangered Rothschild giraffe. Nakuru is also home to other animal species. These include leopard, buffalo, waterbuck, buffalo and warthogs. Birdlife is also prolific here. It is one of the most notable of the Rift Valley soda lakes.

Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Day 4: Nakuru -Maasai Mara

Rise up early for our breakfast. We depart Nakuru for the most famous game reserve in Masai Mara the best place to see all the big five and thousands of herbivores that know this place to be home. It has a variety of vegetation and therefore supports many animal species. In the months of July to August it plays hosts to millions of wildebeests that come here in search of better pasture. Big cats lie in wait and ambush the young and weak Also waiting are the gigantic Nile crocodiles that have a lot to feed on during this migration across the Mara River. This remains to be the time of plenty for all and the best animal spectacle also called the eighth wonder of the world.

Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa lodge.
