Day 1: Arrive Arusha
Arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport, proceed through Immigration, collect your baggage and proceed through Customs. After exiting the Customs & Immigrations Hall, please look out for a uniformed Galloping Safaris Ltd Driver / Guide holding a Galloping Safaris Banner with your name or tour name on it. Your guide will assist you with your luggage and transfer you to the lovely to The Shangazi House.
Day 2: Arusha / Tarangire National Park
Today you will depart Arusha, traveling southwest through the Maasai Steppe to Tarangire National Park, Tanzania’s fourth largest. Full day of wildlife viewing from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. Overnight at Tarangire Swala Camp.
Day 3: Tarangire National Park
Spend another day in Tarangire National Park, viewing some of Tanzania’s largest populations of elephant and enjoying the diverse scenery, including the dramatic baobab trees that are so typical of the park. Full day wildlife viewing in Tarangire National Park. Overnight at Tarangire Swala Camp.
Day 4: Tarangire / Ngorongoro Highlands
make your way to Gibbs Farm in the Ngorongoro Highlands where you are sure to enjoy the serenity of this lush and extraordinary oasis. Morning wildlife viewing departing Tarangire National Park, Lunch at Gibbs Farm, Nature walk around the lodge. Dinner and Overnight: Exploreans Ngorongoro Lodge.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Highlands / Lake Manyara National Park
Your afternoon will be spent in Lake Manyara National Park, a unique park with an alkaline lake and breathtaking views. Here you will view a wide variety of wildlife including lions, baboons and countless varieties of birds. Overnight: Exploreans Ngorongoro Lodge.
Days 6 & 7: Ngorongoro Crater
Depart Gibbs after a leisurely breakfast and head deeper into the highlands until reaching the Ngorongoro Crater rim. The crater is a geological marvel boasting several vegetation zones from lakes to forest to savannah and being home to about 30,000 animals, despite its tiny size of only 10 miles across. Many Maasai call the Ngorongoro Conservation Area home – keep an eye out of the red cloth of the herdsmen dotting the landscape as you make your way through this area. Day 8: Oduvai Gorge / Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, continue your journey into the heart of Tanzania by heading west, toward the Serengeti Plains. Brief stop at Olduvai Gorge, Morning wildlife viewing in Serengeti National Park, Picnic lunch in the park. Overnight Buffalo Luxury Camp-Tented Chalet.
Day 9: Serengeti National Park
Relish in the vastness of the Serengeti “the land that flows on forever” along with some of the best game-viewing that Africa has to offer. Full day of wildlife viewing in Serengeti National Park (if you have advance reservations, make an early departure for your hot-air balloon excursion today or tomorrow). Day 10: Serengeti National Park
Spanning nearly 6,000 square miles, the Serengeti has even more to offer you today. With your skilled guides at the helm, the game viewing promises to be interesting on this last day of your adventure. Full day of wildlife viewing. Buffalo Luxury Camp-Tented Chalet.
Day 11: Fly back to Arusha for your journey home
Depart the Serengeti late this morning and spend the rest of the day in Arusha, with a farewell lunch, some shopping and a dayroom to prepare for your flight home this evening. Schedule flight from the Serengeti to Arusha (33lbs baggage maximum), Farewell lunch in Arusha at Mount Meru Hotel, Dayroom in Arusha and Transfer to the International Airport for your flight home.
