Day 1: Arrive Livingstone, Zambia (Victoria Falls)
Upon arrival at Livingstone Airport, you'll be met by a driver from camp and transfer with fellow guests to Waterberry Lodge, right on the River. Spend two nights here in the private Farm House with all meals, local drinks, two in house activities per day included (tour of the falls and entry fees included plus water activities and more). This is our favourite for families because it includes exclusive use waiters and boat.
Day 2: Victoria Falls exploration
Today is yours to enjoy! Activities on offer include a tour of the Victoria Falls and visits to the museums, Livingstone town and markets. The River Farmhouse boat will take you on sunset, daytime or dawn cruises, fishing trips and island picnics. On land you have a choice of guided birding trips and visits to the local village where the school is supported by guest donations. This is always a huge hit with our family guests and their kids!
Day 3: Victoria Falls to Chobe by road
After breakfast, you'll be met and transferred to Chobe Elephant Camp in Kasane where you spend two nights in a family room with all meals, 1 x three hour private boat cruis, 2 x three hour private game drives and a visit to the Caracal Biodiversity Centre PLUS a visit to Impalila Island
Day 4: Chobe exploration
There is a variety of activities that include viewing the Chobe's spectacular wildlife from open safari vehicles, by boat on the Chobe River or experiencing life in the village.
Day 5: Chobe to Khwai by air
After breakfast, it's time to venture with a driver to Kasane airport. Here, catch a light aircraft flight to the Khwai airstrip. Here, you'll meet a guide from camp and transfer with fellow guests in 4x4.
On arrival, enjoy two nights at Machaba Camp in the family tent with all activities, local drinks and activities included. Machaba Camp is situated in the game rich Khwai area, on the eastern tongue of the Okavango Delta. The camp is built in the classic 1950’s style, with luxury safari tents, en-suite bathrooms and romantic outdoor showers. All the tents are situated on the ground and the pathways to the tents meander between the large riverine trees.
Day 6: Okavango Delta/Khwai Safari
The Okavango Delta is one of the world's largest inland deltas situated in the middle of the largest stretch of continuous sand in the world - the Kalahari basin. This oasis in the middle of the desert is a rich yet fragile ecosystem, providing a life source for an incredible variety of wildlife. Activities offered include night and day game drives as well as mokoro excursions. Walking safaris are available subject to prior arrangements.
7: Machaba to Pom Pom by air
After your morning safari activity (time permitting) and breakfast, it's time to check out. You'll transfer with your guide and fellow guests to the airstrip for a light aircraft flight to Pom Pom Camp. Spend two nights here on an all inclusive stay in the heart of the Delta exploring this fantastic private concession.
Day 8: Okavango Delta exploring
Activities included in this delta paradise are game drives, night drives, walking safaris and mokoro excursions all taken with local expert guides. The tranquillity of the delta and beauty of its winding water ways, open lagoons and tree islands will be a highlight of your safari.
Hippo and crocodile are found in the deeper lagoons and big predators such as lion and leopard, as well as buffalo, giraffe, zebra and wildebeest move through the area. If you are lucky, some of the nocturnal animals such as serval, civet and genet may be seen on night drives. Birding enthusiasts will enjoy the regular sightings of Pels Fishing Owl, African Fish Eagle, Giant Eagle Owl and White Backed Vultures.
Day 9: Homeward bound
After breakfast, you'll bid your guide goodbye at the airstrip and catch a light aircraft to Maun. On arrival, this itinerary ends.
