The Safari starts in Victoria Falls where you will be staying at the wonderful Victoria Falls Safari Lodge ( 1 night ) which has sweeping views over the African Bush and Zambezi River, a great place to get into the feel of being on safari and being in Africa.
Your time here will include a trip to the Victoria Falls themselves which is a truly memorable experience.
The next part of the safari takes you to Hwange National Park ( Davison’s Camp ) – this is Zimbabwe’s largest National Park
at 14651km2 and has some of the greatest bio diversity of any park in Africa. We will be staying in a very comfortable,
small, semi permanent camp ( 3 nights )overlooking a very busy waterhole on the edge of a large grassland area this
private concession area allows us the option of doing night drives as well as game drives and walks. Highlights here are the
huge numbers of elephants that visit the waterholes daily, massive herds of buffalo and great predator sightings.
From Hwange you fly to Mana Pools National Park, the second of our world heritage sites and one of the most beautiful
and productive game parks in Africa. While here we shall be in Mobile Tented Camps that will be set up exclusively for you
– all with en-suite toilet facilities and shared shower, and a great chef in camp for your al fresco meals in the bush. You
start off on the Mana Pools Flood Plain area ( 4 nights ) and your camp will overlook the Zambezi River and animals will
always be in sight at any time of the day. A lot of the focus here will be on walking and tracking animals and highlights
being looking for a pack of wild dogs hunting along the flood plain or a pride of lions stalking one of the herds of buffalo in
this area or sitting under a tree and watching some of the old elephant bulls pulling down branches and enjoying the new
albida pods that are such a focus for the animals.
We move from the flood plain in an open safari vehicle and travel downstream through the Nyamatusi Wilderness area of Mana
Pools before reaching the private concession area of Chikwenya Safari Lodge. This is a very productive game viewing area
and has the added advantage of allowing night drives and being able to go out on the river for a game viewing cruise by
power boat or you could try your hand at a bit of fishing. The camp is very comfortable with nice airconditioned rooms
which are perfect for those hot nights in the summer.
Our safari finishes with a charter flight to Harare timed to coincide with your International flights.
