Camping will be in the Chobe National Park in Exclusive Wilderness sites i.e. HATAB or BOGA sites, with no other campers nearby. If the sites are fully booked we will be forced to use the public site at Ihaha this is very rare though.

Included is all camping equipment including spacious walk in tents with a bed roll and bedding (mattress, sheet duvet and pillow). Park fees, food, mineral water and house wine with dinner are supplied. Dinner is a two course meal and consists of hearty ‘Bush Cuisine” cooked on open fires.

Excluded are soft drinks, beers, visas if necessary and items of a personal nature like towels and toiletries. All trips will have a backup team, including a cook and minimal/no participation is required. Ablutions consist of the famous rustic open air bucket showers and long drop style toilets.
All trips are run by skilled, licensed professional guides and a backup team.

Generally, casual comfortable clothing is suitable throughout the year; dull neutral colors are most suitable.
Campsites are very sandy so suitable footwear is advised.
T shirts.
Jeans or safari trousers for the cool evenings and mornings
A fleece or warm sweater for those early morning game drives.
A good pair of Sunglasses
Sun block, a hat and insect repellent are essential!
Binoculars and a camera, ensure batteries are charged- there is no electricity in the bush (we sometimes can charge via the vehicle cigarette lighter 12V only)
A headlamp or torch is vital.
If you enjoy a whisky or the like, you are welcome to bring a bottle along to sip by the Campfire.
A towel, and your own toiletries (ladies please remember there are no shops for emergencies)
Any medication if necessary, we do have a medical aid box with the basics.
There will be times when you are exposed to the sun so a thin long sleeve shirt may come in handy.
Please try to travel as light as possible- space is always an issue on Safari.

DAY ONE: - 07h30Pick up from your lodge /hotel in Victoria Falls/Livingstone for the one hours` transfer to Chobe. Our Botswana guide will meet you at Kazungula Boarder Post to assist with immigration formalities and then a short drive to the Chobe River jetty site. After a short briefing on some pertinent facts such as safety, and some regional information guest will then board the boat at 09h30 to commence a 3 hour boat game cruise into the Chobe National park. The river cruise is considered one of the highlights of the trip, as one gets the opportunity to get up close and personal with fantastic birdlife, hippos, crocodiles, and of course scores of elephant and African buffalo that make their way down to the river to quench their thirst. The boat cruise ends at 12h30 in time for buffet lunch at the Chobe Safari Lodge. After lunch there is a chance to do last minute shopping in Kasane, as there are no shops within the Park. Guests then depart on an afternoon game drive - this being the best time to see Chobe’s large herbivores making their way down to the river to drink. Arrive in camp shortly after sunset for drinks around the camp fire and dinner under the stars.

DAY TWO: - Rise and shine at dawn with a quick hot cup of tea or coffee and a light Continental breakfast before heading off on an early morning game drive. This time of day is best for finding the big cats or the rare Wild Dogs as they are still active and hunting and, chances of seeing them are good. Around mid to late morning guests return to camp for a delicious “bush brunch” and a siesta getting an opportunity to read rest and take a refreshing shower.

When the day starts to cool off, another afternoon game drive follows afternoon tea, and good sightings are revisited or areas as yet unexplored are visited. Chobe National Park has a wide variety of game - the cats and large herbivores such as elephant and buffalo being a highlight, but rarer game such as Puku, Eland, Sable and Roan antelope among others. Return to camp after sunset for a reflective fireside chat. Dinner follows, as always accompanied by the unforgettable sounds of the African night.

DAY THREE: - Guests are woken at dawn with warm water being poured into their basins and a friendly Botswana “dumela” (good day). After a quick cup of tea or coffee and some cereal you head off on an early morning game drive. This time of day is best for finding the big cats as they are still active and chances of seeing them are good. Around mid to late morning guests return to camp for a delicious “bush brunch” and an opportunity to take a refreshing shower. After packing up, you then leave the camp on your last activity which is usually another Game Drive/ Boat cruise, to be dropped off in Kasane/Kazungula 16h30, you will be back at your Lodge/Hotel in Livingstone/Victoria Falls between 18h30 and 19h00.
