Departure Day :
This South Luangwa National Park Safari in Zambia departs from Malawi's capital city of Lilongwe or Lusaka where you will be collected.
We leave Lilongwe/Lusaka at 07h00, driving to South Luangwa though the capital of the Eastern Province of Zambia, Chipata. From friendly Chipata we follow allow time for Lunch (not included in Cost) and leave for South Luangwa afterwards
The Luangwa Valley covers 9050 km² of unspoiled woodland and riverine vegetation, home to over 40 mammal and 650 bird species.
Along the way we stop at Rockview to learn about Zambian Trees and its uses to local people, arriving at our overnight safari lodge by the mid-afternoon. Welcome drinks are served when we arrive and then we check in. We settle in at our chalets/tents and spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing before dinner, served from 19h30 onwards.
Day two we kick off with an early morning wake up call for some tea, coffee and a light snack before we venture into the bush.
We aim to embark on our morning game drive in South Luangwa Park by 6h00, as mornings are an excellent time for game viewing.
We make our way back to the safari lodge after 2 - 3hrs.
Then there is time to relax, take a swim as you await for lunch
After Lunch you can take a nap or relax at the Bar in time for a late afternoon game drive/ night game drive starting at about 16:00hrs returning to the lodge at 20H00.
Awake early to the noisy calls of the birds ready for your second morning game drive. We aim to spot wildlife you were unlucky to see yesterday and discover more of the park. Depending on game sightings, we return to the lodge around 10H00 for a scrumptious "brunch". An afternoon rest, swim, tea then we again head out for our afternoon/ night drive at around 16H00 for your last safari hoping to see more amazing wildlife - returning to the lodge at 20H00.
