A spirit of adventure & excitement: of solitude and companionship: & of the splendour of the natural world. Danny McCallum was born in Tanzania in 1947 and has been leading safaris since 1967. His passion for life in the African bush is a family legacy. His grandfather trekked north from South Africa at the turn of the century and was a Professional Hunter. Danny's father took up the same skill. Danny's profession has taken him across the east and central African regions. He has held hunting licenses in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Sudan, Central African Republic, the former Zaire, and Zambia. It is of Tanzania, however that Danny has unparalleled knowledge and a wealth of experience. Today Danny McCallum Safaris is based exclusively in that country and outfitting discerning travelers with luxury hunting or photographic safaris in the traditional style. To visit Tanzania is to witness the wild diversity of Africa. A land of unfathomed lakes forged by the Great Rift Valley. Where the dense woodland of the interior yields to the vast Savannah and mighty rivers run through some of Africa's largest game reserves. Out of such geological and geographical diversity it is small wonder that the animal kingdom displays its grandeur as nowhere else on earth.
