DAY 11:. MGAHINGA NATIONAL PARK HIKING MOUNT GAHINGA, MUHAVURA AND SABINYO

Climbing Sabyinyo extinct volcano is done in the south western uganda. The summit of Sabinyo is where Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo meet. Sabinyo is not climbed because of its wide and breath taking views. Mount Sabinyo also called “Old Man’s Teeth” since like an old man might lose teeth, so the top of Mount Sabinyo’s top has become jagged, eroded by time and elements.  There are three most challenging peaks – the views are well worth it simply amazing. There is some ladder climbing as you venture up and are able to step into the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and back into uganda all without your passport being stamped. You walk mostly through dense vegetation but the dense vegetation is exactly what makes this mountain so attractive. This hike consists of climbing 3 peaks.

That is, mount Gahinga, Gahinga means pile of stones and you will find piles of stones in the gardens and farms below Mount Gahinga that the people clear from their fields and put into piles at the edge of their fields. Mount Gahinga is not a little stone but being a neighbour to Mount Muthaura it is a little brother.

Mount Muhavura, Mount Muhavura also called Mount Muhabura which means the guide because it is seen from far and wide and stands like a beacon, a point reference for, simply the Guide. This cone-shaped Volcano rising above the other two in Uganda gives those who take the 8-hour climb – hike up and back some of the best views around – taking in the Virunga Volcanoes, Lake Edward and Lake George in Queen Elizabeth Park, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the Rwenzori Mountains – simply amazing views for the tallest of the Mufumbiro Mountains, the Virunga Volcanoes. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Safari Lodge

DAY 12:LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK-KAMPALA (DEPARTURE).

After breakfast have a safari walk under the escort of an armed ranger. The Kopjes are particularly interesting with the camouflage kilspringers and topis. Due to cattle herding in the area it is amusing to see zebra grazing alongside the long horned Ankole cattle peaceably. It is exciting to approach wildlife at such close range.

Alternatively, you may choose to go for mountain bike safari (on payment of a supplement of $15 per person for 2 hours) or horseback riding safari in the park (on payment of $60 per person for 2 hours).

Later Leisurely drive back to Kampala with a stopover at the Equator where you will have an opportunity to stand in 2 hemispheres at the same time. Take some photos, then another stop over at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers where you will be able to watch the ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through the generations arriving in the afternoon. Depending on the departure time, go for a city tour and visit the Capital City of Uganda in details .Like the Kasubi Tombs where the four kings of Buganda kingdom were buried,Bahai temple,Old kampala Mosque one of the biggest muslim religious worshiping centre,Namirembe Cathedral a Christian worshiping centre, the four hills of kampala, nakasero market and the uganda museaum before transferring to airport to catch your flight back home.
