This exciting safari takes you to some of the most popular national parks and game reserves in Kenya as mentioned above. You will travel in a private 4x4 safari land cruiser in the company of knowledgeable tour driver / guide who will drive you at a leisurely pace as you stop often to identify, photograph and view animals. Accommodation is in tented camps on triple sharing basis with all meals included and in Nairobi on bed & breakfast. Before you start your safari, you will have a city tour of Nairobi which takes you to visit the Giraffe Centre; where you will have an opportunity to feed the world’s tallest animal – the giraffe, Sheldrick Elephant Museum where you will see orphaned baby elephants and have an opportunity to adopt an animal, then afterwards the Marula Recycled Flip Flop workshop and Karen Blixen Museum. The tour then takes you to the city centre for a guided driving or walking tour of the city to see the historical land marks, markets, parliament and others.

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi in the morning

Meet and greet by Tour Planner and driver / guide on your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Airport and transfer into your hotel for early check in. Afterwards, you will proceed with the tour of Nairobi as follows:

0930hrs – 1030hrs: Giraffe Centre Tour (1-2 hours)
You will drive around the Karen suburbs where the Giraffe Centre is located. The Giraffe Centre is home to the endangered Rothschild Giraffe which is found in different parks and reserves in Kenya. The tour gives you an opportunity to come into close contact with and feed the world’s tallest animal. The raised platform gives you easy reach to the giraffe so that you may feed it with pellets. Living with the giraffes is a family of warthogs which you will see browsing on the grass.

1100hrs – 1200hrs: David Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage Tour (1 hour)
Proceed to visit the elephant orphanage which is home to baby elephants. The orphanage opens daily from 1100hrs to 1200hrs for only 1 hour. The baby elephants are in the company of their special handlers who nurture them and feed them as they play football. Their handlers will give you a brief history of where the elephants were rescued from and might give you some milk in a bottle to feed the elephants.

1230hrs – 1330hrs: Marula Recycled Flip Flop Workshop
Afterwards proceed to the Marula Recycled Flip Flop Workshop which is also located in the Karen Suburbs of Nairobi. The workshop is filled with bins of recycled flip flops which are gathered from the beaches, cleaned, glued together and sculptured into beautiful souvenirs.

1330hrs – 1400hrs: Afterwards, you will proceed to the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden Restaurant where you will have a light lunch or coffee before touring the facility.

1430hrs – 1530hrs: Karen Blixen Museum
