These "Gentle Great Apes” are one of the 4 different primates you can visit in the heart of Africa. During our trek in this true and vast jungle see chimpanzees, baboons, colobus, and vervet monkeys. The Virunga national park is a UNESCO World Heritage site that include vast plains and forests, home to antelope, elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, and buffalo to name a few. Bring stable hiking boots and we will bring plenty of water with our porters to support your hike. Nyiragongo is one of eight volcanoes in the Virunga Mountains. The volcano is located north of the town of Goma. We will climb all day and camp on the top to admire the lava of a red and active angry volcano. This is Africa at its most exotic. (B, L D)
